Steve Stoll nació en Staten Island (Nueva York) en Julio de 1967. Su temprano interés por la música le llevó a comenzar a estudiar batería a los 10 años y más tarde hacia el jazz, llegando a formar parte de varias bandas locales.
En seguida le perdió el miedo a las cajas de ritmos y a los samplers, algo que más tarde le serviría para convertirse en batería y programador del sello Wax Trax! de Chicago. Pero pronto se pasaría a hacer sus propios temas, en los que la percusión era el hilo conductor.

Desde entonces Steve ha publicado en multiples sellos como Probe, Synewave, Trax (Chicago), Djax (Holanda), Fax (Alemania), Novamute (Inglaterra), Profile o Music Man (Bélgica). Además de haber remezclado a gente como Gary Numan o Hardfloor. Y de dirigir Proper y expandir su sonido a nivel internacional.

"I first met Robert Hood in the early 90s in the London Club Lost. It was his debut in the UK. I was a big fan and follower of his music. Robert was wearing a trilby hat which I thought this was super cool and slightly unusual. After his set I congratulated him on a great job and introduced myself. He was kind and humble and gave me a white label from the M-Plant label which I still have in my record collection to this day.

The music that Robert Hood makes for me is one of the purest forms of Techno there is. He has stuck to his artistic vision and kept his sound true to himself and the roots of Techno / Electronic music. Which lets be honest, these days is an admirable thing to do when so many artists and DJs have thrown all their integrity out the window and sold their soul to the devil just to try and make a quick buck or be a superstar DJ. 

I have only DJed with Robert once before and it was an honour to say the least and I’m very much looking forward to sharing the DJ booth once again with him at Suicide Circus. I have made this tribute mix to celebrate the man the artist and the legend that is Robert Hood. I hope you enjoy!"

Mark Archer (ex Altern 8 & Nexus 21 / UK)

Mark Archer started his Production career in 1988 with Dean Meredith, Archer was a founder member of Bizarre Inc before starting up a new project under the name Nexus 21 as well as the side project Altern 8, which crashed the UK charts in 1991 with “Infiltrate 202” and “Activ-8 (come with me)”, two chaotic slices of hardcore, the latter reaching number 3. Additional vinyl outings included the “Overload EP”, “Frequency” (10.000 copies of which were on sale for a single day only), another top ten hit, “Evapor 8”, followed by “Hypnotic St8” and the LP “Full on Mask Hysteria”, which reached number 10 in the LP charts.

2007 was a return to the sound of Nexus 21 with the solo release of the “Songs For Einna EP” on The Black Dog’s new label offshoot DS93, which sold out before its release date. This EP was followed with the release on new label Mutate of the “Ring of Gyges EP”, contributions on Balkan Vinyl and Rave Wars, and Altern 8’s “Frequency” reconstruction and remixes.

"Past 3am local time, our options were scant, so we walked down one of the most hostile corridors in all of Europe, Barcelona’s Las Ramblas, rampant with some of the most terrifying creatures of the night. A quick right down some grim alleyway, and there it was — Moog. From the outside, nothing more than rotting stucco, a small congregation of degenerates and random gypsies selling cans of beer. We paid the fare for entrance, descended into the seizure inciting strobes, and ultimately discovered an acid haven that any techno fan would have crowned king"
