The uplifting 'Rote Nacht' (A1) reveals the contrasting energy between the tumultuous city and the silent mountain, before gently giving way to the feelings of the exotic seascape in 'Essaouira' (A2). Delicately, yet suprising as ever, Acid Pauli rearranges the warm drums in 'Essaouira' (B1) to let your spirit rest in an imagined, green oasis, before it’s completely taken away by the lightness of the seabirds in 'Taghazout' (B2).

DJ and producer Art Alfie offers a energetic kraut disco-tinged dance version of Intercellular Communication, a track off of AUTORHYTHM’s 2023 album Songs for the Nervous System. Added vocalisations and sound effects add an eerie vibe not dissimilar to Nurse With Wound’s reworking of Stereolab on Simple Headphone Mind, and a gradual transformation sees elements of the original track taking on Moroder like qualities, before ending in a gloriously pounding Conrad Schnitzler-like groove.

AUTORHYTHM is a music/science/art project by Swedish artist Joakim Forsgren. His unique brand of electronica builds on a dynamic mix of driving rhythms and meditative soundscapes. It is at times suggestive of genres like IDM, techno, New Wave or Krautrock, but always unquestionably an entity of its own. Conceptually the music deals with the inner workings of the human body and how it is affected by frequencies of light and sound. That said, there is an openness and ambiguity to the music that opens it to both micro and macro perspectives, the songs lend themselves equally as well to interplanetary space travel as neurons firing electrical signals along our neural pathways.

Bwana is well into weightlifting, and this hobby translates into his music that is underpinned with muscular and driving foundations. He’s also a playful character with a fondness for emoji-filled photoshops, and this equally comes across in his ear for a sparkling and infectious melody.

Next up he’s debuting on Fort Romeau and Ali Tillett’s Cin Cin imprint with a four-track split EP backed with two cuts from Belfast-based producer LOR.

Our favourite on the 12” is Bwana’s ‘Annex, 90’, which steadily grows from a muted kick into an expansive glide through cosmic textures.

2012's club scene would not have been the same without the sensational track "Strange" by highly celebrated Hamburg duo Adana Twins. The track became the fifth highest selling Deephouse track of 2012 on Beatport and simultaneously propelled the guys even further into the lime light.
