I've been listening to Essential mixes since I first started getting into clubs and electronic music, so it was a shock, and exciting for me, to get the offer to make one myself. The two hour format really allows some time to explore ideas musically as well.

So bringing everything together, I decided to try and make it an exploration of everything that has made me so obsessed with electronic music for the last 20 years, with some of my favourite records from the mid 90's, unreleased material from my favourite artists like Nils Frahm, Lusine, Tim Hecker and Rob Clouth, and a range of genres from ambient to 90 bpm electronica, house and techno, all the way up to 170bpm glitched jungle mayhem - I thought, why not have some fun with it!?

So it's certainly not a normal club mix, it's just what I think is the best music out there, without worrying about what genre or box any particular track fits into or how things should be done "properly". I wanted to leave some sections quite ambient as well, to give breathing space between the peaks, so I'm happy to be able to post this new version up, minus the broadcast talking and idents.

Was war das für eine geile Zeit..

Das tba.dresden. Der ewig unvollendete Klub. Das Domizil für alle Gestrandeten, Suchenden und letztendlich Findenden.

Irgendwann war dann halt Schluß und von überall her kamen DJs, Musiker, Gäste um dem @tba_club das letzte Stelldichein zu bieten - und alles Auszutrinken.

This is the techno set played by Robot Bennett in the Hamma Halle in Sisyphos, Berlin on 5th January 2020 from 12 noon until 3:15pm. A part of the New Year's party titled 'Burning Down the House' which ran non-stop from the evening of December 31st 2019 until Monday 6th January who knows when. The Robot was not included in the official programme because it was unclear if there would be enough people in the club to warrant keeping the main floor open into the afternoon. There turned out to be a very energetic and enthusiastic crowd of dancers and the Robot loved playing to them. Unfortunately, the SD card which had been bought specially for the event proved to be too spacious for the silly bloody recorder so a live recording was not possible but the computer recorded it internally.
