Moogfest is proud to announce an exclusive remix from Moor Mother and collaborator King Britt. This is part of our ongoing collaboration with our 2017 line-up. Below Moor Mother describes the track in her own words. Enjoy.

The remix represents Philadelphia at its best, King Britt has been an artist that I have had the honor to perform with and learn many things just by watching him.  I am thankful that he has remixed one of my favorite songs from the album originally produced by artist Wizard Apprentice.  Time Float speaks about the environmental warfare that continues to plague historical African American and low income communities.

We are so pleased to present this mix by Detroit legend K-hand. She will be joining us at the festival by presenting a children's workshop for mixing records as well as making us move on the dancefloor.

K-Hand is considered the first lady of Detroit Techno and there is no denying Hand's role as a globetrotting DJ who never fails to further Detroit's undisputed legacy. Hand knows how to read a crowd and seduce it, one track after another, until she has it at her mercy, and the dance floor dances. Just as well versed in techno (via her Detroit fostering) as house (via her days in Paradise Garage-era New York), Hand offers the best of both worlds -- few DJs can weave back and forth with such precision.

K-Hand | Moogfest Mix

Marisa Anderson has so graciously provided us with a new recording of entitled "San Feliu". Finger-plucked textures weave over each other expertly displaying Marisa's expertise and nuance. She will be joining us at Moogfest 2017 with a workshop surrounding creative use of effects pedals and finer sonic discourse.

This is a song about seeing and celebrating what is good around you. I wrote it in response to an illuminating conversation I had while on tour in Spain a couple of years ago. The song is about the reality that life can be hard and sad while also being beautiful and worth celebrating.
