Firstly, before I get into the description of the song, I’m going to split it into two perspectives (based on a true story)

Perspective number 1

Basically, the song is about a young man, who's really trying to find his place within the music industry, & accomplish the feeling of acceptance. 

In his journey, he then realizes that she (the music industry) is not as honest as she seems, although he is fully aware of all the terms & conditions that come with being committed to her.

Perspective 2

The other half of the song is revolved around my personal experiences with relationships, which has lead him to such things as, developing an appetite for self-destruction, self-negligence, emotional trauma, fear of being more open & vulnerable to others.

What the song means to me

So all in all, this song means the world to me, it is near & dear to my heart, and I felt the need to pen down a song that could hopefully patch up the wounds from your past.
