For the second release, Oath welcomes Berlin-based producer Moomin; who brings forward a three-track EP entitled ‘The Snoofer’. Alongside three original tracks, UK producer Seb Wildblood also provides a remix for ‘For Willow'.

The title track, ‘The Snoofer’, wades through squelching percussion and deep swinging grooves as underlying synth-lines remain marching alongside locked kicks and fluctuating bass.

Arriving at ‘For Willow’, Moomin delivers a hazy, serene Hang Drum melody that tumbles and fades away, opening space for wispy pads and steady drum furrows.

Multiple label head and mainstay UK producer, Seb Wildblood, known for his distinct house style; offers up a soothing remix for ‘For Willow’. Steeped in warmth, the track sways back and forth from the blanket of pads to the syncopated rhythms of the instrumentation.

For ‘Breathe’, we see Moomin layering arpeggios and live drum cadences that seem to melt and mold together, floating and falling yet unwavering and firm.

Premiere: Moomin 'For Willow'

Manchester native Loz Goddard has been crafting high-quality releases since 2015, garnering early support from the likes of Mr. Scruff, Mike Huckaby, Move D, and Session Victim. The ever-eclectic producer has since partnered up with esteemed labels such as Seb Wildblood’s Church imprint and deep-house institution - Quintessentially, Loz has since reinvented his sound with an experimental edge and a penchant for live instrumentation. It’s Goddard’s ability to explore a wide range of genres and tempos whilst maintaining an authentically personal sound that is particularly special. Whether it’s the slow ambient motions inspired by the likes of Boards of Canada or the rattling breakbeat workouts imbued with the spirit of the nineties the U.K underground, this northern powerhouse delivers a deeply immersive sound design to be utilized in the club and for home listening. His latest work has been manifested in the form of the ‘Balloon Tree Road’, an LP set for release on Oath - purveyors of visionary electronic decadence, heavily conceptual and forward-facing in their creative output.

The first single to be unveiled this November will be ‘When Time Slows It Feels Weird’ which sees Loz return to the floor-focused delights of breakbeat sampling. The kaleidoscopic style in which this established producer operates his Reform Radio show can be best heard in tracks such as this. Goddard meanders smoothly through downtempo chordal structures and jazz-like melodic improvisations to create an intersecting masterpiece with astounding presence both in headphones and through the weighty structure of a towering sound system. The tumbling breakbeat contrasts tastefully against the space-age timbre of the project, encouraging listeners to sway carelessly with the sound of broken-up kick and snare combinations.

Meet Chloe Martini, super young female music producer based out of Warsaw. Chloe's sound definitely caught our attention about a year ago, with a style that displayed her classical background with a touch of electronic music. We immediately reached out and asked her to work with us on some capacity. At the time she humbly declined, stating that she simply wasn't ready to put together anything official. Since then, she has crafted her production skills, released smashing remixes and collaborated on tracks with other great producers/artists.

Chloe Martini - Temptation (Khadisma Remix)

The Duo Okvsho is one of the most promising prospects of upcoming musicians from Zurich. Influenced by the UK Jazz Scene, they successfully released their album Orange Wine. The acclaimed deep house producer and deejay Moomin, based in Berlin, therefore made a remix of one of its tracks: Jusqu’ici tout va bien. The artist, master in creating lo-fi house transformed this instrumental into a lo-fi jazz audio experience, deepening its groove, and turning it into a companion for any mind looking to relax and unwind through refined beats.

For the imprint’s latest release, Last Year in Marienbad is pleased to welcome French producer Moonee back into the fold, who brings to the table an EP filled to the brim with his signature blend of euphoric and emotive grooves…

Moonee’s music, one of François Lefevre’s main aliases, touches upon the airer side of dance music, tapping into the feeling of inner reflection and escapism. His ability to create impactful but softly spoken songs leaves impressions on those who come across it, and his records are deep dives into these carefully constructed sonic experiences. Originally focusing on deep house, Lefevre has taken Moonee on recent releases into a number of new spaces, perhaps best demonstrated on the LP ‘Sandquest’ which came out on parent label Oath last year. The manner in which Moonee curated that experience helped expand his musical universe immensely, and when it comes to palettes of sound, there isn't much better than his finely tuned discography. Finding spaces in-between is a joy on his records, with the attention to detail and emphasis on the free flows and intuitive make repeat listens all the more enjoyable.

‘Brotherhood’ is his latest offering, and it is perhaps his most finely packed and delicately poised record to date. As soon as the ‘Glitched’ version of the title track begins, there is a sense of latent urgency but also a story found within waiting to be told. The steppin’ garage beat acts as a pivot between the lo-fi vocal sample up top and the intensely deep low-end bass and kicks, with the listener bouncing along within the mids to great effect. ‘Existenz’ comes next, and this takes the 4 to the floor energy to new heights. The kicks provide the core for hi end rhythmic elements to offer texture, with focus drawn to the emerging melodic palette, that feels almost orchestral in its depth and reach. One to drift into, for sure.

‘Panorama’ builds on some of the key motifs from the opening two tracks, almost rounding off that chapter of the EP to great effect. The skipping vocal samples shift around up top whilst an upbeat bass line drifts up and down beneath the drums. A playful and joyous track, this one feels like mid-morning wrapped up with late night all at once - one to soundtrack that late-night voyage through the city. Finally, fellow Oath affiliate Moomin is brought on board to remix the title track, and he brings a slice of electro to proceedings. Whilst the original is presented with a gloss of high energy, this version is more understated and laid back, butt this focus on rolling provides an excellent counterpoint. Slowly building, quietly shifting, it is a mini-masterclass in allowing energy to build and release - a perfect ender to this EP.

If enriching grooves, enticing melodies and warmth are what you wish for in life, then ‘Brotherhood’ has you covered. Trailblazing across the electronic slipstreams, gathering energy at canters then gallops, this EP has a bit of everything - press play, and dive right in….

Berlin-based DJ and producer Moomin (Sebastian Genz) makes his highly anticipated return with Into The Distance, a deeply immersive new album set for release on March 28. 

The 10-track LP expands on his signature sound—luxuriating in warm textures, subtly toying with shifting tones, and teasing out compositions of understated complexity. A record built on deep, meditative grooves, Into The Distance invites listeners to get lost in its hypnotic flow.

In the wake of his 2011 breakout debut The Story About You, Moomin was praised for the “resplendent naturalism” within his “beautiful, introspective take on house music”. He had cast a spell of “modern house music magic”, crafting a sound “you can listen to anytime, anywhere”. The acclaim was universal, yet Moomin remains humble, describing himself simply as “a music-lover”. Since that unmissable debut, he has further defined his unique inner-world sound through releases on kindred spirit imprints Smallville, WOLF Music, OATH, and Aim, while also launching his own vinyl and tape label, Closer, a passion project that perfectly matches the tactile and intimate nature of his productions.

Now, with Into The Distance, those unmistakable Moomin signatures are taken even further. Tracks like Joni and A Way Out pulse with understated energy, while Caught In A Memory and Night Moves evoke a dreamy nostalgia. The album moves between deep house, downtempo, and ambient influences, creating a rich, cinematic listening experience. From the hypnotic rhythms of Island Dreams to the drifting melancholy of Summer’s End, Moomin explores movement, both physical and emotional, through sound.

After years of performing at some of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, Moomin made the decision to step away from live shows. Since 2019, he has successfully run his own mastering studio, continuing to pursue his deep love of music and technology. Into The Distance is a reflection of this period—an album that feels deeply considered yet effortlessly fluid, designed for both introspective moments and expansive journeys.
