One of modern house music's leading names, David Herrero continues to push and evolve his trademark take on the genre, with the past twelve months welcoming more melodic tinges and afro shades to his sound palette. Currently based in Asturias, where he spent a significant part of his childhood, coupled with an impressive work ethic in the studio during the lockdown, has led to an exciting start to 2021 for the talented Spanish DJ, producer. He reveals the 300th reference in Stereo Productions with this three-track 'Don't Hold Back' EP.
A slinking production guided by crisp, organic percussion licks, tripped out vocals, and aquatic stabs, title cut 'Don't Hold Back' perfectly demonstrates this evolution in sound as Herrero reveals yet another infectious peak-time production to add to his rich catalog. 'The Present, The Future' takes things down a meandering, warping path as rich percussion and sweeping bass-line meet further signature drum work to wrap things up in style. He ends with 'Supersonic,' which perfectly represents all the essence of David Herrero. A meticulous bass line, an impeccable drive, the organic elements, and the reminiscent of the classic House brought to the current sounds.

A prominent theory is that the painting connects with the time just before the narrative of a great flood, which more or less wiped out humanity because of its sinful ways, most notably gluttony. This inspired the name of the film “Before the Flood” – we are enacting the fall from grace that Bosch depicts. In an insatiable desire to consume more we are literally turning our Earth into a hellish landscape."
