About the Ep:
Canal Auditif presents two young electronic music producers , named Na’am, that’ve you’ve previously discovered on our label with their first widely acclaimed EP: Alyah.
If we should define their musical universe , we could talk about a fine and rare mixture between deep-house, electronica, melodic techno
and oriental inspirations, like a salute to their origins.
Pierre-Loys and Mehdi’s influences come from artists such as Bruise of Customs(US), Mind Against, Hraach, Viken Arman or Adriatic, but we can also find film atmospheres like the Dutch duet Weval and from melodic compositions of N’to, Worakls or mister Oliver Koletzki.
Rather than confine itself to a single style, Na'am experiments and cultivates a melodious crossover, as a metaphor of their personal history.
Na' am begins its collaboration with Canal Auditif in 2015, releasing its first EP " Alyah ", which means " spiritual rise " in Arabic. This seven titles opus , included four remixes, is the opportunity for these both friends to propose a range of styles going from house, tech-house or progressive house, to indie dance or even nu-disco.
The result was very attractive and mature for a fine debut. And gains support from Namito , Rosenfeld (Systematic) ,Justin Robertson ,Aquarius Heaven ,John Digweed ,Eelke Kleijn ,Dusty Kid ,Marc Roberts (Snowbombing), Arjun Vagale ,Arno (Booka Shade) ,wally lopez ,Guy J ,Marc Marzenit ,Nicolas Masseyeff ,Guy Gerber ,Nick Warren and Oliver Schories .
In this spiritual rise, what makes unmistakably the charm of Na' am, is especially the mixture of cold and so ardent atmosphere . Those tones so distant, resonate in our ears in such a natural and familiar way. The duet tries hard to create a music which absorbs us, and change us, not quite as the same as we were previously.

First things first. Yes, you’re right, there’s LL1218 missing but please be assured we’ve just changed the schedule a bit for this one. 

LL1219 is introducing a new act, hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. ATELIER is a duo formed of Jaś Miszewski & Alexander Inggs. Their ‚Something To Fill An Hour‘ EP is a prelude to a full-length player which will be released early next year. On the EP you will find the beautifully crafted and organic sounding original which is backed up by two remixes coming from the super in-demand and always tasteful PEREL and the label heads Thomas and Mathias as SBTH.

‚Something To Fill An Hour‘ is a deep yet energetic track with all the right ingredients that make the Atelier sound - analog synths, drum machines, guitars, effect pedals and last but not least Jaś' voice. It’s evolving from start until finish and will sooth you with it’s wide and deep sounds and a beautiful reverb - which was recorded in a church.

The remixes will please the dance floors, while Perel went for her trademark sound with 80s infected melodies and a broken drum machine based rhythm, SBTH built a strong foundation based on a slightly broken, low end driven beat with loads of tension to give the vocal the right appearance as the main element. All this makes an excellent introduction to Atelier and we’re happy to welcome two new faces to Lossless.

" Hailing from Cyprus, Paul is making his third appearance on the respected Greek imprint, following remixes in 2017 and 2018, both of which earned critical and commercial success. Recent releases for Beatfreak Recordings and Suara have solidified Paul’s place amongst the electronic music elite, ultimately leading him back to Movement for his first original project alongside remixes from Ran Salman and BLANCAh. 

Beginning with the groovy, cutting edge sounds of the title cut it’s clear Paul has crafted some of his best ever work. Fresh and dramatic across it’s near nine minute journey, it’s a sensory delight full of great dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, spacey arps add a cosmic vibe, before eventually melting down into a break of mallet-like clusters and symphonic overlays. Building subtly, the beauty lies in the drop, classy in execution and undeniably groovy with rolling rhythmic qualities, no doubt set for a massive reaction on the dance floor. The companion piece ‘Nemesis’ comes with a deeper and more introspective approach. Warm, punchy beats and tranquil lines set an emotive mood early, with smooth chord changes only adding to it’s poignant charm. The main break furthers the grandiose appeal, as sheets of warm overlays and clattering electronics unite, resulting in a one minute stretch of sonic bliss. 

The lone interpretation of ‘Cheveux Roux’ is provided by Ran Salman who returns to the label for his second appearance. To much acclaim, the Israeli artist made his Movement debut in May of 2017 with a remix of Natural Flow’s ‘Floating’. Subsequent releases on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden , Bog’s Atlant Recordings and DJ Zombi’s Beat Boutique further solidified Ran’s place amongst the industry's most creative talents. Now landing back on Movement he delivers a stunning rendition of ‘Cheveux Roux’. Opting for a distinctly modern approach, Ran reshapes the groove into waves of rippling bass. Dynamic drum fills coupled with organic percussion and crunchy electronics set the stage for a clever take on the lead theme. Cross-cultural in feel, it shifts energy into a section of tripped out designs and wonky modulation, before a third act of striking tonal themes seals it’s brilliance."
