What's up Starfighters...

Well, here's a good one for yea! Few years ago, got a call from and adult film company that needed some road music for a flick. First thought... Doc! You have got to be joking!!! Anyways, it turns out to be a real professional music production job. The first draft cut of music was the mid 60's Debbie Dose Dallas' cut, done in all analogue. That did not make the cut, so back to the drawing board. Next I sent a new cut, this time real Spaced-out Future Tech-no/Drum&Bass groove track. Still nothing...

So I reviewed the clip, got a feel for what was going on, and locked in a tempo. From that point on, I played some sample lick into the computer. Made some chops & loops, and over laid the music with the live sound from the video clip. The next day... Dropped in myself playing live drum on the thing. This time I knew I had a "Home-run"! I took a real risk sending the full track, but I know this was in the bag.

The director reviewed the track VIA MP3, and get this... The gig was voiced only to pay $425.00. How about I got a check for: $2300.00 for 4 years use, and right reverting on the start of the 3rd year, with option to renew. Take it from me, production jobs are out here, but don't turn your nose up at strange sounding gigs. Make that money Starfighters, it spends just as good!

Backseat Driver Mikey On (Live Drums) Cright2008

Sup Starfighters,

I did this recording on a SONY $25.00 Digital Pocket Recorder. Took a mini-jack to=> Y splitter 1/4 (Left & Right), dropped that into the AUX 1 & 2 outputs, dialed in the AUX channels I wanted. Hit record, and the rest is what you hear on the track. When I got back to the studio, I beefed it up a little, and added some compression, brick limiter, and some EQ boost. Gained up the signal output VIA outboard Tube-preamp, and that's my trick!

We are in the makings of producing YK Mase Mason. YK is an accomplished keyboardist, Writer, Producer. We started working in the studio Monday the 29th Nov. 2010. We wrote a set list, started tracking, I laid some simple drum tracks, and the rest was history! We started at 4:30PM, and completed three mixed tracks by 12:15AM.

I think we are on to something by working together, and you can look forward towards new music from all styles, & backgrounds.
