The imagery is deliberately excessive and unstable, blending whimsical dreams with militant activism and extravagant consumerism, all undercut by the hint of chemical escape (“maybe take another blast”). This opening torrent of “I’m going to” declarations feels less like a plan and more like a frantic performance of freedom, revealing a deep desire to break out of a confined reality—be it a prison, a bed, or a stagnant life.

The chorus sharply pivots, breaking the fourth wall to acknowledge the speaker’s own unreliability. Its repetitive, haunting “crooked” imagery—men, truth, words, suits—draws a direct line from childhood fables to adult political corruption, suggesting the entire system is built on warped foundations. At dusk, an old woman wrapped in a blanket appeared before me,
Whispering like a seer, “This is the road that waits for you.”
The times keep swinging back and forth like a pendulum in the dark,
And in the shifting gap between, my heart slowly dries and cracks.
Down at the bottom of a sea where even blinking feels forbidden,
I struggle upward toward the surface sealed and hardened like iron,
Breaking it again and again with all the strength I have.

To the place where all my memories quietly sleep,
The path I walked finally carried me
To the silent, lonely end of the line.
The seasons turn, and everything fades and drifts with time.
And the birds take flight toward the warm and distant south,
Yet beneath the upside-down crescent moon above,

Even the falling snow tonight
Feels strangely soft and warm upon my skin.
At the station entrance, at last, my breath returned to me.
Along the shallow shore of this fragile spinning star,
