Ehrenschwesta joins for DifferentSound Podcast #125.

Ehrenschwesta aka. Menal Batti began her musical journey in the year 2019. Already at a young age, she had a passion for it, the most driving instrument being her father's, the so-called “Saz”. She is a Swedish techno DJ based in Vienna and also a member of Wiener Gerüstbau, a Viennese collective that focuses on highly effective Oldschool Techno cuts.  Her style is shifting through the variants of the genre but her online mixes are proof of her love for the 90s Techno music. She would often describe her music fast, extremely rhythmic, powerful but with atmospheric tunes.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Berlin based artist Nona, who is the co-founder and resident at https://soundcloud.com/re_flect, and is widely known for mixing fast paced techno with elements of hypnotic sounds and pulsating grooves in his sets.

Here's what Nona had to say about the mix:

Since there are no limits to the length of the sets in this wonderful mix series and extended mixes are appreciated, I took this opportunity to record the longest mix ever published by me. Instead of the usual 3 players, this time I played with four and did even more layering and blending of several tracks than normally. 

Because I wanted to tell a kind of developing story, I started fast yet slower than usual and reached my habitual tempo just after 1.5 hours. In addition, this mix contains a track selection that differs more or less clearly from my previous mixes. The focus here lays on a variety of deep, bleeping and hypnotic sounds, atmospheric tracks as well as strongly raw & percussive, driving & minimalist rhythms. Every now and then even a trance or electro gem stands out. The result is a great variety of sounds and rhythms which is almost hardly remarkable due to the length of the mix. 

On top of that, this mix is the first one ever that contains a production of my own! Enjoy!

Franz Jäger started in 2016 following a technoid approach. minimalistic and organic Techno full of momentum and carefully crafted soundscapes.

After experimenting with Dubstep and Drum ’n’ Bass for over 8 years Franz Jäger started in 2016 following a more technoid approach. Based in Stockholm and inspired by the works of Seba, DJ Slip a.k.a. Troy Geary as well as jazz, soul and the sound of nature he now passionately focusses on his unique interpretation of minimalistic and organic Techno full of momentum and carefully crafted soundscapes.

With early support and mentoring from Cari Lekebusch he first played at one of the infamous „Underground Cult“ parties followed by numerous gigs all over Sweden including Club ‚mmmmm‘ in Stockholm. As resident of Schimmer Records from Stuttgart and with his release on HAYES Collective in 2020 and his debut album on Diffuse Reality in 2021 he gained massive attention and received heavy support for his outstanding creative output.

Having had his first international appearance in Berlin for Room Lab shortly after Franz Jäger is now part of both Schimmer Records and Thrust Agency. With upcoming releases on SYXT, New Rhythmics and more Franz Jäger will surely be heard plentily exploring the depths of eletronic music paired with his distinctive combination of organic and broken sounds.

Aupa! Mi nombre es Iker, hago musica como Judy.

Esta es mi tercera temporada conociendo a Phase y mi segunda como residente, lo que me pone muy contento. Si sois habituales me habreis visto haciendo cosas con las maquinas (solo o con R010) o bailando en la pista, y como es la segunda temporada de residente, para agradecer la confianza que han depositado en mi los chavales, prometo traer el doble de baile y de sonidos interdimensionales (certificado ante notario).

Este verano no he pisado una playa pero he descubierto unas galaxias todavía desconocidas dentro de mis cacharros, en las que he encontrado cosas muy raras que tengo muchas ganas de enseñar.

Para esta ocasion especial, vamos con dos tazas de live. Aqui os lo dejo, para cuando tengais 8 horas muertas, la grabación de mi directo para Suburban Alliance el pasado mes de Mayo.

Por si a algun friki como yo le interesa, info extra acerca de este live. Para este set empecé desde el primer proyecto con el que vine a Madrid hasta llegar a las secuencias más nuevas. Las primeras 2 horas tienen partes de unas grabaciones que hice para mi TFM, mezcladas con improvisacion con la Swarm, las siguientes 3 horas aproximadamente son parte del live de 2020-2021 con retoques que hice las semanas previas, y las horas restantes son parte del live de la temporada pasada. Normalmente entre fecha y fecha he hecho muchas secuencias nuevas, asi que para el final de la temporada el proyecto queda bastante extenso.

Es el live mas especial que he hecho, y la verdad es que aunque terminé agotado, la sensacion de poder hacer lo que quisiera sin preocupaciones fue una pasada, así que mas pronto que tarde espero poder repetir este formato, os esperare a todas alli entonces!

Nahuel Rodriguez, known as Mesh Convergence, is a Spanish producer whose work has significantly impacted the techno scene. Currently residing between Granada and Madrid, his roots are firmly planted in techno. However, his musical explorations extend to Electro, Breakbeats, Jungles, Drum & Bass, and IDM, reflecting his broad musical interests and versatility.

Nahuel's journey into music began with a love for Linkin Park and metal in 2006, eventually evolving into an interest in electronic music by 2010. However, his reconnection with techno in 2020 truly defined his current musical direction. His sound has been shaped by various techno producers, resulting in a unique blend of styles that sets him apart in the electronic music scene. His music, a product of emotion and experimentation, offers an intense and addictive listening experience. 

It has been released on esteemed labels such as Faut Section, Edit Select, Children of Tomorrow, Utopia, TMM, Sungate, Subsist, BAHN-, Signal, Arido, NYXII, and Diffuse Reality, among others. 

His tracks have found their way into the sets of renowned artists like DVS1, Laurent Garnier, Rødhad,Takaaki Itoh, Setaoc Mass, Lewis Fautzi, Fabio Florido, HD Substance, Pfirter, Adriana Lopez, Ribé, Viels, Vincent Neumann, Blazej Malinowski and more, resonating in iconic venues such as Berghain, Awakenings, Luna Park, Sisyphos, Fabrik, and Tresor.
