Here's a recording of what transpired at @hivemind-techno's second edition, where I embarked on a two hour journey incorporating music from myself, friends and colleagues of mine who's work I feel connected to. It's great to be able to perform in such a cozy environment, in a well curated night and surrounded by young and open-minded people. I am grateful and happy to see a collective such as this in my hometown, doing it with passion and high regard towards the act of performance. Not everyone approaches making events in the same manner, making the performers feel almost as they're at home, so It's only right acknowledge this.  I hope you enjoy those intimate moments as much as I did. Thank you for having me guys.

The Composers 002 is a distance trip into our podcast station, showcasing a set by Divide who's alias of Davide Maio, Italian Sound Craftsman, one of the true techno quality exponents, also known for his work as one-half of the Syntaxism duo.

The set builds up like an opera but bringing rhythms directly to danceable territories in a complex synth crescendo.

In this piece of art, you can find almost every colour in the techno sound palette, from the ambient intro, to the deeply soundscaped last tracks. In between there is an abundance of beats and synths, evolving from relentless groove spiced with FM bells and resonant bleeps and dubbed subtle synth melodies in jazzy scales.

Random sequences and tight 909 drum workout, and melodies and arpeggios over a shuffled beat, complex evolving to more aggressive sounds approach.
Harshness acts, fat drums and resonant craziness spiced with wise handled distortion, reminded us the best moments of solid nineties techno: high BPM, well cooked chords and 909.
Sequences blend with each other, giving this chaos order feeling as a powerful and unforgettable unique piece.

The Composers: Divide

Bosnian-built and -bred Sev Dah may be a Swedish expat, but the Balkan blackness clings strongly to the bleak percussions and rigidly uneasy synthetics that unwillingly fuse into his strongly individual take on techno.

He has been at the front of the underground scene playing all over Europe, which includes playing legendary gigs in Tresor and Berghain. Signed to respected labels such as Random Island, Mote Evolver and KSR he quickly gnawed his way into the scene’s core of DJs and producers. Sev is even managing new projects on his own label Proletarijat since 2016.
 
With influences ranging from Stigmata and Mills to Master Reese and Petar Dundov, Sev Dah is a versatile but headstrong DJ that can gently ease a thumb in at midnight or fervently thrust it down the hatch at peak time.

Quite a while ago, Decorder's productions captived us, guided by a kind of remote-controlled analog beacon transmitting to us directional signals towards him, whole mysterious.

The Art of Decoder turns out not just astounding, but converting the intelligible, such as a coded message, into a dimensional expression form, worthy of a young prodigy. 

Beginning with a fantasy selection, overmatching the probability of adding up by chance striking tracks we love from ever. 
A phenomenal sci-fi outcome fitting his pseudonym, arrangements under encrypted sequence actions, alternating from suggestive groovy techniques to methodical deep landscapes, yielding a meaningful sound, succulent for wishful dancers.

Def.// The Result of the conjunction of the prefix «Co», which means repetition,  with the word «Incidence» which gives the notion used to mention events that happen more times in a row. // Or by entities involved with continuous ideas were united in an unforeseen period of time.

While like attract like, when our brains make connections across space and time, we can emerge situations matching desires that paradoxically come together. Defined as synchronicities, signs without strict cause and effect, but rather by fortuity coincidence, directed by a relative attraction's force. A theory to bring the paranormal within the bounds of intelligibility leads one to think these facts carry hidden messages and underlying meaning.

Whereas some situations in our lives are just random coincidences, synchronicities are considered signs in the direction of our good, as magical aid.

How to decode true synchronicities? Experts explain intuition as the great tool to realize it, a throbbing defiant inner voice that implies "listening with the whole body".

Decoder is a Dallas based music producer and DJ specializing in the realm of sci-fi & deep techno. His music is often filled with ambitious soundscapes, rolling sequences, and off kilter sound design.

Early in March 2021, Decoder saw his first release "The Futurist" come to life on the Italian label "Antiterra".
Following the EP came a consistent schedule of releases, including releases on labels such as Bomphcast, Srie Records, and his own imprint Codec Recordings.
The year also saw the release of his first album, "Monolithic Activity Spectrum" on the Spanish label "Subsist". Decoder ended the year with his second album release "Dark Shape", which was put out on Jeff Mills' legendary imprint "Axis".

The first half of 2022 showed no signs of slowing down, as Decoder's "Moro Safa EP" was released on Amsterdam based label "Float Records". It also saw the third full length album titled "Plurality Module" released on Subsist. The latter half of the year saw his first 12" vinyl release "Singularity 2" released  on Dallas native label "Science Cult", as well as his follow up release on Float Records titled "Kanavugal".

These releases have also garnered Decoder support from many artists including the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, TWR72, Yanamaste, to name a few. 

Decoder's touring schedule has also seen notable moments, including shows played for Infra (Boston), BCCO (Berlin), Cialo (Poland), Neighbourhood (London), among others.

The Composers welcome in this new episode to Pyramidal Decode, a true promise in our scene, who has evolved creativity and method in his unstoppable formidable career, from the classic techno roots to precise and depurated timeless knowledge.

Introducing the upcoming bombs with subtle harmonic first steps, the path starts to draw itself slightly, just to go ahead in a heavy bass line surrounded by raw percussions and his distinctive distortions, creating a slashing atmosphere direct.

The strength of the intense sound evolves from the low-key rhythm to the serious groove of what sounds like a fierce gallop that shakes an uncontrollable body, providing some well-chosen breath breaks, to continue blowing up beats and minds in a wisely way, relentless industrial effect played for experienced listeners.

Fine selection in this rough race, constructed definitely for the dancefloor. An introspective elegance exhibition led by a young mastery with senior skills.

Born and raised in Italy since ‘98, Pyramidal Decode is the pseudonym of a Techno polyhedric producer.

His first track was published in 2012 under another alias. In 2017 he created Pyramidal Decode, releasing his works in labels such as Subsist records, DeadCert rec, Labrynth, Parabola records and many others.

His music has been defined relentless and precise, characterized by intense percussion and analogue sparks, it also has dub influences but it ends up as a twisted, dark and hypnotic voyage.

2020 and 2021 have been years of major evolution in Pyramidal Decode’s production, he released on Edit Select, Modularz, Dynamic Reflection, B55, Hard Tools rec, and more…

2022 has been the best year of his production yet, starting off with a 10 tracks album named ‘Cosmic Paradox’ on Jeff Mill’s Axis Recordings, published at the end of February. 

He also confirmed his presence on Dynamic Reflection by Abstract Division, releasing his second solo EP "Dysfunctional System”.
While his name was spreading in European clubs, his tracks were released on Faut Section, followed by the track ‘Ghera’, his first  vinyl on End Of Perception.

At the end of November ‘Logical Inference’ had been released in Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up, a solo EP composed by 7 tracks that closed his 10th year of production.

In the last year he performed in various European countries including Bulgaria, Holland, Germany, Spain and Italy, bringing his sound to stages like CassetteClub (Madrid), Melkweg (Amsterdam), Mensch Meier (Berlin), Lanna Club (Gijon) and more.

Due to the production capacity of its author, it is worthy of our Composers series. But our guest's willingness to also express himself with an exquisite unreleased selection of some of his professional compatriots in addition to his own, was as intriguing as the work turned out to be.

The Art of Staffan Linzatti, taking an exclusive position among our series, is almost a 'memoir with tiny touches'. As a result, a selective, advanced, addictive, and effective Mix.

Starts beatless dropy and bleepy on the intro tune, going subtly into the route organically, with asymmetrical streaks and textures.
Cosmic trails tinkle with the captivating groove of the dancehall, the bass, the complex rhythms, and the dances begin. Tension gives way to the immersive tempo, refined and attractive, while the bewitching background and repeating beeps will perform the main scene.

Dropping clues throughout the story allows the listener to generate their theories about the solution to the mystery, but taking care of the balance between being too obvious or too tricky, keeping them in sonic uncertainty until the closing.

Definitely, an authentic fantasy that will enchant you, just as it has been to introduce you to this master of our sci-fi flagship.

▸ Staffan is a native to Sweden. His drive towards obliterating boundaries and developing new forms and structures in sound is not only a way for him to express his creativity but also encourages and facilitates a natural evolution artistically. Staffan can conjure inspiration from, what seems to be anything that is constructed with the creative minds of other people. Together with his brother Mathias, he runs the record label Searchlights Records. A label dedicated to the exploration and understanding of how we observe occurring events. How we remember them, the movements they spark, how we communicate these findings and ultimately how they may change us and become part of our being.

The maiden debut of an anthologist queen in the Composers series, It can't have a better signature than Denise Rabe's.

For her installment, Rabe delivers a composition mix across sixteen tracks with her indistinguishable haunting sound, driven by industrial soundscapes and intense rhythmic structures in opposition to the hypnotic unwinding sounds that balance the wild trip, giving the piece a contemporary and vigorous enchantment.

The ninth of the saga is a reveal manifesto, putting the listener under a spell and carrying them into a subliminal space, from goosebumps in our body to the mystic and gloomy Rabe's voices in our minds, the chapter illustrates the sound design of reliving an odyssey.

Denise Rabe's extensive involvement in Berlin's techno scene, encompassing roles as a booker, radio host, promoter, and DJ since her relocation to the German capital in pursuit of a life in music, has profoundly shaped her into the pragmatic, grounded artist she is today. Her journey in the industry is eloquently mirrored in her unique, distinctive voice as a producer. 

Her approach and unwavering work ethic are evident in every release under her own label, Rabe. Here, her music is not just presented, but crafted with meticulous care, thought, and effort. This dedication extends seamlessly to the overall aesthetic and vision that encompasses not only her music but also the artwork and presentation associated with it. 

This commitment has enabled her to attract like-minded artists whose work resonates with her sensibilities. Noteworthy imprints such as Mutewax, which hosted her debut 12" in 2015, ARTS, where she rapidly solidified her position as one of the label's key figures, and Stroboscopic Artifacts, where her EP "Manifesto" was unveiled in 2019, provide clear reference points in tracing the trajectory of her career and its evolution. 2023 she set her tone on SOMA Records with her track "Walking On Boarders". 

Denise Rabe's distinctive inclination towards sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, and groove-driven compositions, enriched with hypnotic hooks that simultaneously mesmerize and distinguish her sound, has propelled her illustrious 10-year career across stages spanning the United States, Asia, and Europe. ▸ Venezuela, Italy, and Argentina have witnessed the evolution of Michel Lauriola. It is in Buenos Aires where he finds his place to settle as a producer and resident artist of the most important club concept in the country, where the best international techno genre proposals are accommodated in each episode of Under Club. 

As a DJ, he has 20 years of experience in booths as relevant as Tresor (Germany), The Glasgow School of Art (Scotland), Razzmatazz (Spain), Moderna Club (Colombia), and Under Club (Argentina) among others. 

His studio musical proposals show his most personal facet, always with rhythmic, deep, and euphoric bases that transmit and excite the dance floor. 

He has a long discographic trajectory of more than 10 years editing on labels as prominent as Faut Section, Aine - Polegroup, Planet Rhythm, Edit Select, and Children of Tomorrow. 

It is Marco Bailey who gives him the opportunity to create an album for his Materia label in 2022. "It's in my head. It's in my brain" consists of 11 tracks that represent his versatility as a producer and coexist in his extensive sound background. 

Eager for new challenges, Michel Lauriola prepares for the following musical projects with which to surprise and continue developing all his mastery.
