The year has been very quiet so far regarding releases. But before the year comes to an end, Tripedal Crow Records introduce their new vinyl lathe cut series: 'DARKPLATE', first heavy edition hitting the frontlines in November. Like the 'ROOTPLATE', cut onto 60 pieces of transparent 10' vinyl by Pressure Mastering, each edition of this series also gets the personal hand-labeling & numbering treatment by JahYu. Pre-order for the physical as well as the digital version will be available from 18th November, exclusively on their Bandcamp. The full release follows a week later on 25th November - better mark it in your calendar - the 10' cuts will be gone sooner rather than later. Encompassing the release are two massive cuts, both by JahYu. Each with his signature technique and fashion - but in a new invigorating drive.

After JahYu himself was attacked by German neo-Nazis not the first time in his life, but recently earlier this year, here came an attempt to process his dark side on the one hand and empower himself on the other. The product is 'No Mercy For Fascists', a deeper dub-influenced track with a driving bass that seems to sweep aside everything in its path and is made to push any sound system to the limit. And 'Azalea' on the other hand, which is more likely to please the Junglists among you, radically beautiful like an azalea that puts its roots in the ground and makes it vibrate - for empowerment, but not to lose your footing.

For label-head JahYu and his very own Tripedal Crow Records the message is quite clear. No fascism ever again and nowhere! This release is dedicated to all people who still suffer from this inhuman ideology today. And everyone suffers from it in different ways - only we all can fight this detestable system of racism together and empower ourselves to do so.

My God Has A Telephone

@JahYu the Korean word for ‘freedom’, this is an artist whose music is rooted in the notion of freedom, freedom of sound, freedom of expression, freedom from mind and freedom of the soul. JahYu uses his creative freedom to connect directly with his ancestors and create music that somehow transports the listener through time and space. Oriental flute and string melodies slide effortlessly amongst powerful roots-based dubstep, creating a sound that is unique and full of flavour. This enigmatic Korean-German producer blends both sides of his heritage, the digital steppers that emerged from Europe in the 1990’s alongside the traditional oriental music of his mother’s homeland, Korea, augmented by a deeper exploration of contemporary bass music. JahYu’s productions provide us with the opportunity to discover our ancestral roots through music. Roots music is not a sound, it is a feeling and a feeling that JahYu is able to evoke with profound intensity.

Conscious sound system music for the healing of the nation! https://www.soundcloud.com/jahyu 's very own Tripedal Crow Records unveils the newest addition to the artist family - meditative music for troubling times. Based in Hamburg, https://soundcloud.com/penguin_sound surfaces with a grand debut EP and emerges as an artist to watch out for. Smoothly defying genre conventions and with a keen sense of space, the up and coming artist and producer merges Dub and Dubstep characteristics in a fluid yet precise manner, fused with a meticulous and multi-faceted melodic approach. Primed for future dance floor opportunities as much as home-listening situations, the meditative journey 'Through The Desert' shall stand the test of time as an integral part of the greater Dub and Dubstep canon.

Vast dunes of harmonic overtones, the title track kicks off with ethereal chords and oriental lead melodies in a constant state of ebb and flow. 'Through The Desert' nests its meditative contents on a heavyweight foundation, overdriven sub-bass bustling amid the auditory sandstorm. On a more technoid venture, 'Mirage Dub' evokes a profound sense of ominous anticipation. As the veil is lifted, swaths of low-frequency excursions mingle amid the authentic percussion and glitched-out ambience. 'Rain' materializes introspective notions and spheres of melancholy. Hovering among the experimental soundscape, it reaches into the depths of consciousness as evanescent strings guide the way. In staccato style, 'Beyond The Temple' sports fidgeting hi-hats and sizzling pressure valves, guided by a creative micro-arrangement and distorted bassline foundation - hazy and expressive with plenty of grooves to round off the trip. Descending into the eerie atmosphere, 'Elderstab' takes a stride through synth Valhalla on top of old-school wobbles, merging in a beautiful and dynamic progression. Returning to the title track, the VIP turns up the heat in a full-on stepper version business fashion, energetic sound system fuel, providing a perfect contrast to the original - proper! Distinguished artist and label boss JahYu takes on 'Rain' and imprints his signature style in a hypnotic version in minimal sound attire as fleeting melodies guide the way through. A superb culmination of the release and conclusion for the debut release of Penguin Sound - off to a great start!
