As a resident at Stereobar and a consistent contributor to Montreal’s underground community, Manu has built a reputation with his unique projects and standout releases. Having connected musically with Mikael (Kora) through the Montreal scene some time back, this release feels like a full-circle moment.

Known for fusing an intriguing blend of sounds, Manu crafts a swift, groovy, and refreshing signature style. Creamfield EP delivers two deep house cuts with a minimal edge — Creamfield and 2010 — both hypnotic journeys that balance emotion with steady, driving grooves.

Moonwalk - Mirage [Tronic]

Respected label Diynamic has announced the eighth edition of its popular ‘Four to the Floor’ series.

The series aims to champion four productions that have been handpicked, road-tested and approved by label-boss Solomun. The ‘Four to the Floor’ EP series is comprised of four different dancefloor-orientated tracks from different producers, from upcoming talents to long-established electronic music artists.

First up is ‘Zulu’ from Buenos Aires duo Brigado Crew and Argentinian producer Crisstiano. Drawing from their South American roots, ‘Zulu’ is a percussive track with a laidback yet exotic feel thanks to its echoing vocal samples.

Picking up the pace, German duo Adana Twins’ ‘Uncompromising’ features a driving bassline and clattering synths, building up in waves for a series of dramatic drops.

Next up is Ukrainian duo ARTBAT & French producer Rafael Cerato with ‘Uplift’, a track that slowly builds ambience with flittering synths before plundering into a hefty low end.

Rounding off the latest edition of ‘Four to the Floor’ is the atmospheric ‘Pretend To Fly’ from Definition. The 7-minute journey features wistful male vocals and distinctive arpeggios leading into the rich basslines characteristic of the Diynamic sound. With a relatively short career span, Definition has already had a slew of releases on Materialism and Underground Audio allowing his support to grow.

Tom Demac emerged midway through the new millennium as a producer and DJ whose ability to straddle various genres and styles with ease have been evident in a colourful and bustling production CV. From early releases on his own Electronique Audio label to singles on acclaimed labels such as Aus Music, liebe*detail, Drumcode and Pets Recordings, Demac has also found a regular home in Hypercolour over the years. "Sink Or Swim" here, oozes elegance from the first kick drum to the very last; a brooding build up of melodic keys and tension building pads swiftly evolves into an expansive and emotive main room floor filler, resplendent with huge gnarly bass hooks and driving drums. With recent releases for some of the scene’s leading labels, Fideles (aka Daniele Aprile and Mario Roberti) are an Italian duo on the rise. Their spellbinding ‘Impressum’ EP is both a fine example of the Fideles sound and exactly in keeping with the direction Tale Of Us are steering their Afterlife label. Inspired by the Ionian sea in Southern Italy, low-pitched basslines and soaring synths give the tracks just the right amount of drama, whilst the rich sound-design allows them to make the most of a big system; something Tale Of Us have put to great use in their sets this year. Take the emotionally-charged title track, the rolling, mechanical drums of ‘Kalotypse’ or the more restrained ‘Hadar’. Across all five tracks Fideles’ character shines through the adventurous melodies and distinctive touch, creating an inspiring next episode of the Afterlife catalogue.

"Kevin de Vries and I have been in touch for years exchanging music and talking about
doing a release from him on my labels.
The time has come with this incredible “Vertigo” release.
Needless to say that I’ve been a fan of Kevin’s sound for years and supporting almost
every single release he’s had.
So I am obviously super happy to finally land his excellent music on NM2.
I feel we’ve put together a release so strong that it sets the bar extremely high for what’s
to come on NM2 in the future.
Kevin’s flair for making amazing melodies and soundscapes mixed with spot on
arrangements and in depth productions is a true pleasure for your ears.
Even when writing these words I slowly drift away and dive into the music with a smile on
my face.
To top it all we also got a superb remix from Marco Faraone who has been among my
favorite techno producers for years as well and one I have been wanting to release music
by for some time. His remix makes “vertigo” a more hard hitting and techno driven
banger.
Cleverly keeping all the melodies intact and wrapped up in heavy beats.
I feel blessed to have both these artists deliver such high quality music for NM2.
