First full length track (well it's sort of a palindrome so I guess it's a half length track really). It was probably better about four days ago but I kept fiddling with it. And I probably would've carried on fiddling with it so I just decided it was done, move on.

I was listening to Six Years Too Many by Nostalgic Story and I thought I'd try to make a track a bit like that. Kinda turned out OK.

Nostalgic Story

This sounded a lot worse when I named it. Not that it's brilliant now... but seriously it was a mess. Tweaked most of the pre-sets and felt happy enough with it to make a 'song'.

This is a track from an album I made for a friend. It's more of a sound collage than a song.

Are you happy?

Sometimes you watch something and for whatever reason you can't get it out of your head. So it was with Nil By Mouth. There's a pivotal scene that I couldn't stop thinking about. Ray Winstone's voice just there in my head all the time. I had to externalise it so I turned it into a song.

It's not a good song. It's not meant to be. I just had to associate that scene with something else. The scene is quite violent so I tried to make something that matched it (for the roughest bit anyway).

Nil By Ears

I recently downloaded Caustic2 for Android having never made music before. I liked what I could do with it. Was messing around with the free version for about a week before I decided to buy the full version. Also downloaded some expansion packs from singlecellsoftware.com and some other tracks people had made using it. Discovered I wasn't using it to anything like it's full potential. Don't think I have the skills for that anyway.

I don't have access to any other music making apparatus or production software. If it can't be done it on Caustic I can't do it. And if it can I probably don't know how.
