SINNAMON - I NEED YOU NOW (MOPLEN EDIT)

No doubt, “I Need You Now” by Sinnamon is one of the most sampled recordings ever. 
During the past three decades, this R & B/Soul/Dance/Funk/Electronic track has become a classic club anthem. 
Now, thanks to a skillfully edited version of the original recording dubbed “I Need You Now (Moplen Edit)” by Luca Locatelli, Stevette Music is pleased to be a part of the 30th Anniversary re-mastered release of this timeless masterpiece. 
Included on this release is a bonus of the song’s very basic tracks from a cassette tape that has also endured and survived over this period of time. It represents a point in time, in fact 1979, when five very young men, barely in their twenties, went into a studio totally unrehearsed, and “nailed” those tracks in one take. 
Later, on overdubbed tracks, Andre Booth who wrote “This Beat Is Mine” by Vickie D, would become one of the first keyboard players to utilize a synthesizer on a dance record. 
On subsequent overdubs, R. Bernard Fowler, would lend his powerful voice to the song as lead & background vocalist. 
LaForrest Cope, who wrote Whitney Houston’s “You give Good Love”, and Jacqueline Sampson would also contribute their soulful vocals as background singers.
I am confident that all will enjoy this latest rendition, true to the original version.

"I wrote, recorded, and produced this song back in 1979, with R. BERNARD FOWLER as lead vocalist. Way before the Peech Boys. 
This song is where they got "Don't Make Me Wait" from, the opening line to " I Need You Now". 
Moplen, I wish you had been around to mix this back "in the day".
You did a great job!!!! 
We only need to pressure a record company to re-release your mix.
This is hot!!!!

This is my all time favorite track remixed by the beloved and greatest DJ "The Godfather" Frankie Knuckles (RIP my brother, I love you!). The track here brings an energy that only Frankie knew how to cut and remix, this track invites the listener into his loving space of dancing without a care in the world. Frankie, you will be greatly missed but never ever forgotten (if I have anything to do with it). House Music FOREVER!!!!

This collection of underground dance music covers tracks released between 1975 and 1983 from both sides of the Atlantic. The tracks chosen for this compilation introduce some of the pioneering few who expanded the horizons of disco to incorporate elements of dub, funk, electro, jazz and Latin. In some ways many of the artists featured here foresaw the birth of successive musical genres. There is no disputing that they were all well ahead of their time and with the recent trend of similarly inspired house they sound as fresh today as they did then.

The music chosen for this album were the underground classics that made the scene what it was in the heady of days of the Paradise Garage and the Loft in NYC and the Warehouse in Chicago where DJs such as Arthur Baker and Francois Kervorkian could be heard spinning such tracks.

On disc two (CD version only) Masters at Work add their touches to one of their favourite tracks while Harvey and Underdog take on the Disco Dub band and come up with two very different interpretations which will work on today’s dancefloors.

Included on Remixed with Love Volume 3 is this lovingly elongated version of the LTD classic, making the most of the beautiful orchestration. some of you may notice there is another version of this song due out in a month or so. The JN remix has actually been completed for a couple of years. The reality of embarking on a remix album project like RWL is it involves doing 20/30 remixes, some of which will inevitably be finished before others and “in the can” whilst the rest of the LP is completed. Then all the remixes need to by cleared and licensed, which another massive hurdle that takes ages. Someone who is doing one remix and releasing it as a single can turn it around a release much quicker than a whole album. Anyway, it doesn't really matter because this is one of 21 new remixes and very different to the competition

"Last year when searching though the Salsoul archive Dave Lee came across a Leroy Burgess tape which contained a song called “One + One” that he didn't recognise the title of. On the off chance, it could be something interesting Dave got the tape digitised when he heard it quickly realised this wasn’t some outtake but a killer tune. He contacted Mr Burgess to ask him if he knew why this song had never been released, Leroy was overjoyed when he heard that “One + One” had been unearthed after 35 years of going missing. It turned out that it was recorded in the same sessions as Leroy’s classic “Heartbreaker” for an album that never came out but the tape had somehow been lost and he’d given up hope of it ever being located. “One + One” is Leroy on top form in his prime with the full team of New York musicians who featured on many of his classics (Jocelyn Brown, Melissa Morgan, Stan Lucas, Sonny Davenport, James Calloway). Mr Lee has given the song 3 brand new mixes, a full vocal, Dub and reprise. If you’re Burgess fan this is essential as it gets.”
