Moqawama (مقاومة), "resistance."

Amidst the ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza - having now surpassed the 100-day mark, and with deep mourning for the loss of over 30,000 Palestinians, over 10,000 of those being children - I felt a profound need to contribute in some way. This drive led me to start this fundraising project and, with the invaluable help of everyone involved, we've crafted this Various Artists compilation as a creative expression of solidarity and support for Palestine.

We reached out to friends and fellow artists from five different parts of the world (Egypt, Poland, Greece, China, Saudi Arabia), seeking their support in contributing their unique sounds to this project. MOQAWAMA V.A. has evolved into a kaleidoscope of electronic subgenres, spanning from Shaabi to experimental techno, sound design and drill.

~PROCEEDS~
The vast majority of humanitarian aid is unfortunately not reaching Gaza. The only scenario in which donations can be helpful and have an impact is through e-SIM purchases, for which there is currently a huge demand, due to the very frequent telecommunications blackouts imposed by "Israel".
Purchasing e-SIMs is literally life saving, as it allows people within Gaza to connect to the outside, to communicate with their families and also to show what's happening within Gaza.

We'll be using all proceeds from this release to purchase as many e-SIMs as possible and send them to gazaesims@gmail.com. This effort is run by Mirna El Helbawi, an Egyptian writer and journalist. You can find more information on gazaesims.com or follow @ Mirna_elhelbawi on X/Twitter.

"Quad" marks Kvadosh’s debut EP; a sonic exploration crafted over the past two years, representing a distinctive soundscape by fusing evocative Mediterranean and North African sounds with bass-heavy, abrasive reggaeton-styled rhythms, resulting in four club-ready tracks. 

This release also features collaborations with both local and international artists—Ethan Nick (@ethan-nick), Chico Naral (@chiconaral from GR), and Dove Molotov (@gentlehooligan from TN)— while still maintaining a very personal and honest direction, true to Kvadosh’s nature.

“Quad” is set to be released on August 23rd under Tunis-based experimental netlabel Mrama Division @mramadivision

Over the past few years, Nahash and ABADIR have been sharing food recipes, the same sense of humour, and their love for 90's rave, Beth Gibbons, Sun Ra, and grilled lamb. They met last summer for the first time and enjoyed a B2B together during a label showcase in Fano, Italy. Their memories of and appreciation for 90’s and early 00’s Arabic pop music inspired their first collaboration on SVBKVLT. Marchadair is the distillation of the meaty club sound by both producers; ABADIR’s micro-edited audio sampling and surgical chopped percussions mixed with Nahash’s lavish dub techniques and hefty bass, all serving as the main ingredients for these 4 heavyweight tracks. To close the menu, the EP features remixes by Ehua and Toumba.

The track titles play on a symbolic link between both artists and their native languages, using French words that have morphed into Egyptian slang. This Franco-Egyptian mixture echoes the hybrid sound of the EP.

El Pelele, artista-estrella de culto de la constelación argentina, lanza LA ÚLTIMA GOTA, su nuevo material discográfico a través de HiedraH Club De Baile, casa productora y sello musical argentino con base en Buenos Aires.
LA ÚLTIMA GOTA está compuesto por seis tracks que van desde la pesadilla industrial hasta la fantasía radiante del hyperpop. En colaboración con cinco productores de Sudamérica, este viaje pelelístico empieza en el sótano abandonado donde habitan los recuerdos distorsionados sobre los que el artista escribe, y se expande hasta la fiesta reventada o la intimidad sensiblona de una cena show.
Entre los seis tracks, hacemos una mención especial al cover de EN TU PELO, bolero del mexicano Javier Solís, interpretado en la versión argentina por la icónica diosa de la cumbia Lía Crucet. ¿Cómo suena una canción popular aullada por un monstruo? El Pelele redefine este clásico; lo destruye, lo engulle y lo vomita.
Por si fuera poco, NO ME ARREPIENTO, la agresiva y glamorosa canción pop producida por SIGFRIDA, contará con un videoclip dirigido por El Pelele y Pampa Aramburú. Una experiencia audiovisual que nos permitirá desentrañar a otro nivel la narrativa erótica y pesadillesca que se teje detrás de una poesía visceral.
En todo caso, el álbum en su totalidad marca una narrativa y un territorio entre la mística y la materialidad, como sólo una entidad como El Pelele puede evocar.

“Kolasi Night Club” captures the hazy intensity of a Balkan night - where cheap liquor, sweat, and cigarette smoke mix under red and blue lights. With a dark, hypnotic lead riding a reggaeton rhythm, it evokes the chaos and charm of late-night bouzoukia night clubs. Creative Process desc.

kvadosh works by combining raw, folkloric elements with modern electronic frameworks— especially low-end-heavy rhythms, re-imagining them through club-oriented structures. Each track is built as a scene, often mixing the sentimental with the gritty, and the familiar with the unexpected.
