For A Better Day EP

The last time i played as a dj publicly was in new year party event in 2020, after that i decided to stop and concentrate on this project that i enjoy so much more and put 100% from me on my productions. nowadays i didn't quite know what Djing as Mora Alfmarsson but it was fun figure it out while making edits of my own music, playing songs from friends and make some edits for them, some songs that are around my speakers frequently and also using some parts of movies that i love.

Fast forward almost 3 years after, this past week it felt that my set in NY had become all of those experiences together under this project into one moment 
That day was long and with a lot of unexpected things around,  but i wanted to say thank you to every single one who enjoyed this set with me and the stems community for the invitation, about the live transmission as i mentioned there was a lot of unexpected things that day but i'm happy that everything worked at the end in some way.

"It started in 2021 when the strings and piano chords where recorded, there was no purpose for that idea during that time but it was reflecting some things that happened, so I decided to keep it for myself, step back from it and develop the idea when the right time comes. 

Back in 2023 i spent most part of the year far from my family and home, one day during early morning I took my computer and start looking for the things I've worked on in the past and that’s when I found this recordings, that was the first time I heard them after a while and felt this sense of returning... back to the place and time where i first wrote it, back to my home and family, back to the memories with people that have left us physically, back to the good, bad, the happy and sad moments that have shaped me who I am today

Right after that I saved the audio into my phone, I put my headphones and went out to take a walk to a mountain during the first snow of the upcoming winter while I was listening to it over and over
That day I came back to my studio, hopefully there was something that made so much sense and seemed that idea through

My surroundings always has a huge role for inspiration as an artist, so many days in the snow working on music pushed myself to develop what one day was an idea with no purpose but a huge meaning now it’s a song that blossomed into something special that could capture so many memories and a long process forming a sort of timeline about moments of resiliense, as a gap between loss and hope, between being near or far physically or not of people you love and appreciate but also about how valuable is the time for yourself and your creativity."

Until We See Again

I chose some key signatures and developed a performance that I'm not used to, to experiment with my music, unreleased songs and live edits. using a sequence of ambience, drum loops and quotes, this is an introspective performance recorded in the studio for streaming purposes.

"When we talk about Chasing Memories we need to have in mind how everything started, Joseph Crime and I met right after one of his shows as a coincidence, we scheduled a studio session and that day instead of making music instantly we started to talk about our point of views about the music industry, about how electronic music could be introspective and being performed in diverse settings, about artists that inspire us, our projects and experiences 

I opened an old project that has a tape recording of a chopped piano that resonated with us at that moment, we put our headphones and started to work on it on our laptops to see which direction take, sending files to each other to create a loop that mean something for us, throwing ideas and when we put everything together we knew that there was something unique.

We scheduled another studio session because there was something missing, a certain kind of spark, right after our first session I arrived to my apartment, with my laptop on my room trying to solve the piece that was missing, I started to compose a chord progression with my piano, a different bassline and one melody synth that came through experimentation and at that moment the spark we talked about started to have a certain light

During our next studio session I showed Joseph what I added and we dragged that into the original project and we realized that this idea progressed from a loop into a song with a story to tell, during that session we put everything together, we made the arrangement like someone making a puzzle, making each element different as the song was progressing, pushing ourselves creatively and without noticed that we were making unconsciously what we talked during our first meeting: A song with energy that reflects introspection and our mindsets 
We spent more time doing this song to put attention into details and ended up being what you can hear today"

"The story behind this song takes place near my hometown after I came back early this year, focused on spend time with my family and keep making music
One day i recieved a message from Joseph that he was considering to come to my place at some point regarding his plans of travel this year and make music during that time 

We started a new song together, we went from make music on a snowy winter to start a new one in a totally different sourranding, from a studio to an open place in nature, “A Quiet Moment” takes place initally outside of a cabin in a mountain called “El Cielo” and in the Edward James “Surrealist Garden”

Same process... but this time from scratch, Joseph was making atmos on his laptop and then I made drums and pads on mine, we put them together after, it was great at first impression but nothing that sit right with us but we knew that has certain kind of potential, we were stuck on how to continue it, I have the idea of play the atmos just with the speakers of our laptops and contemplate where we were and made so much sense one thing with the other

I asked myself...If what i’m seeing is a video and what i’m hearing is the soundtrack how it will evolve?, the music stopped and all you can heard was the light rain that suddenly started that moment, the wind blowing the leaves of the trees, an experience that felt like timeless and a quiet moment 
I put my headphones and I made quickly what came to my mind, a piano chord progression and a electric guitar effect, when I plugged off the headphones and play it directly we were shocked of what just happened on how the place and weather that day shaped our creative process 
We continue developing the idea, even if we didn’t finished the track during that travel, we ended up fixing some details for it on zoom sessions when both have the time and opportunity to do it, that’s the story behind A Quiet Moment"

Mora Alfmarsson & Joseph Crime - A Quiet Moment

When we talk about "The Right Time," we need to consider the background of it.  For this particular track, it all started with an idea I developed with a friend of mine, Easy Tyger, over Zoom back in 2021. At the time, it was just an idea that we didn't continue and eventually abandoned.
We didn’t know what would come next. Easy Tyger continued making music but then stopped, while I was on the verge of starting my new project, "Mora Alfmarsson." I began my project by releasing a single and making remixes for other artists.

Last year, after returning home from a long time in Montreal, I found a hard drive from my old laptop containing ideas I had worked on during the pandemic. It was incredible to hear the direction I had taken back then. The project for this song had been lost, but I found recordings of guitars, atmospheres, and an arp that my friend Easy Tyger had created. I used these elements to create something new, and I felt like I was collaborating with my past self. I was happy with how the song turned out, as it embodies aspects I love about the creative process: a balance between making my own recordings with instruments and experimenting to see what happens.

Even though the idea began four years ago, I'm happy that I finally finished it recently. The result might not have been the same if I had worked on it sooner. These three tracks are actually the first ones I worked on back in 2021, before officially starting my project. The title comes from the fact that, despite how long it took for them to be released, I believe this is "The Right Time" to share.

Mora Alfmarsson - Falling Apart

I started this project back in 2021—so they feel like the roots of everything I am as an electronic music producer.


These three tracks don’t sound the same—but they are all born from the same time, the same process. They’re slices of a period where I was exploring my production identity—learning, experimenting, playing with moods and textures. I recorded sketches, layered synths, tested rhythms late into the night—just trying to find what was mine. This EP isn’t just a release; it’s a portrait of who I was in that moment.


The names mean as much as the music. They’re simple yet direct statements: timing, breakdown, hope. Together, they describe a journey. And though they come from different angles, they feel united—like three chapters of the same story.

They remind me of why I started making music like this in the first place—introspective, honest, and full of feeling.
