When we do yoga, we offer our minds a break from the incessant chatter that often seems overwhelming and unstoppable. By directing all of our energy towards training the body, the mind becomes still and focused. This is why yoga is called an "active meditation." 

This mix was created with the intent to offer support to my students in their quest for a quiet mind and a disciplined body. With no jarring breaks between tracks, and no distracting words, the music enfolds the listener, gently coaxing you to turn your attention inward.

This mix was recorded during quarantine, when the world felt so unfamiliar and everyone was missing their loved ones. The second track is a beautiful cello and piano version of "Mad World" and the closing track is called "Miss You" and so this mix was named.

In my past life as a preschool teacher, my students at the Jewish preschool I worked at called me "Mora Rachey," because Mora means teacher in Hebrew. Presently, I teach several yoga classes each week. After searching fruitlessly for the perfect music to accompany my classes, I decided to learn how to DJ in order to be able to offer my students a fully immersive experience. Now, I make my own hour-long mixes to play during my classes. Each mix begins and ends with an ambient, meditative track to turn the focus inward and relax, and builds up to a crescendo during the heat of our practice.  Every mix is wordless, so as to avoid distraction from focusing on the body and listening to the instruction.  The tracks flow seamlessly from one to another, with no disruptive breaks, and incorporate a variety of melodies and beats from around the world. I hope you enjoy these musical offerings, and that they enhance your yoga practice.
