This was recorded in 1991 or thereabouts.  The orchestra all sequenced, I sang and played guitar and recorded it on the venerable old Akai.  The tape was in awful condition when I transcribed it,This was easily the most difficult song to transcribe from tape. Half of it was run off a full size left spool with a mad heath robinson/rube goldberg arrangement ( a jam jar lid with a hole in it) so that the left spool was lifted off the sprockets and ran freely on the spindle. After a certain amount of running, because of the sharp angle, the tape caught too much on the edge of the left spool. I then had to run the whole tape onto the right spool and wind as much of it as possible onto a smaller left spool which could be used with this outrigger arrangment. The slightly disconcerting speed change half way through this transcription is where the splice was.

This is a song I wrote in January, that's had a chequered history to get here.  Highlight definitely getting https://soundcloud.com/dave-mckeown to play clarinet.  Low point,  trying to get a fictitious character to play guitar on it. The couple in the first verse are the same as the couple in the last verse.  The guy in the middle is just a random fool.
