Flux is a project that emerged a decade ago as a platform and information support, as its original activity was aimed at researching and disseminating information, news, reviews and interviews about artists and projects that follow a musical line similar to the philosophy of this webzine. As a means of communication, it has contributed to connect artists and record labels with part of their public, as well as always supporting humble and emerging projects that over the years have become consolidated.

Flux webzine grew and its activity also increased when they began to explore other fields, including collaborations in radio broadcasts, fanzine publications together with She Lost Kontrol and more recently, in 2020, the project was also set up as a record label.

Connections was the release that inaugurated the Flux Musical Art catalogue in May 2020, now, three years later and to celebrate Flux's 10 years in business, a project that began in 2012, the label is releasing a second volume of Connections with a similar approach in which a group of artists, this time a total of 12 producers, contribute their talents to put out a heterogeneous release that perfectly showcases the label's personality.

German artist Gamlaskatten opens the album with Tactical, low-revving industrial techno with a great sense of groove. Incendie, Arthur Bdt's solo project, opts for syncopated rhythm and metallic textures with Ghosts in the walls of my mind. Square & α Wave 1, from Crime Die, is a sequence of events surrounding a forceful arpeggiated line. Echoes Of Murder, a track from Italy's Exome, is a dense mix of frequencies that emerges from the bowels of the underworld. Sirius Gry J completely transforms the seemingly peaceful landscape of Mole IX in its opening bars with the arrival of a hard-hitting industrial beat. Mono no aware unloads an extra dose of power noise with Dekodemo, daredemo.

Contaminata is a steamroller, Huren turns the rhythmic sequences into a roller that destroys everything in its path. Nemrac chooses the raw and robust path of industrial with Leisure Seeker. Hypnoskull's I Have Pulled The Blankets Of Doom Upon Me To Suffocate Elegantly mixes unfathomable textures with extreme punch, a very similar choice to Øperat's Fixed Width track, both of which stand out for the sheer force of their kick. Fangarm also relies on the energy of the kick to create Puritania, although it avoids the binary rhythm and applies a rhythm based on triplet and syncopation. Uncto closes this second volume of Connections also breaking the rhythmic regularity, Leaving Towards Another Dimension, besides accentuating the punch, also stands out for its harmonic transition, from the first fuzzy bars to a solemn and very appropriate ending to close the album.

Βorn in Athens in the 1980s, originally from Crete and Thrace, Sirap is a mix of multicultural musical influences. In recent years, he has been living permanently in Heraklion Crete, where he is engaged in the production of electronic music while mixing tunes from various musical genres. Ηis love for music started at a very young age since his mother listened to and had several vinyl records of mainly Greek rock and folk music. Ηis favorite genres are techno industrial, electro, noiz, acid and ambient .You will find him in hidden bars but also in canyons, old factories or isolated beaches mixing artificial and natural sounds. His music is dark and fast with eerie elements and he likes experimenting a lot, spending endless hours in the studio teasing and exploring the world of synthesizers. In Heraklion, he is a member of the self-organized music group BA2037, which mainly organizes electronic live events and parties.

CSC Records presents the last EP Severe Constraint from Sirap, an artist coming from Greece, including a remix by USHIJIMA. These tracks have been recorded during COVID time where our liberties were constrained as well as our emotions for several weeks..

CF Premiere: RPTLS - Castigo [NODE Recordings]

The artist formerly known as Lady Blacktronika is on a new mission as Femanyst, set to drop an EP of ruthless techno on Paula Temple’s label, Noise Manifesto on May 25. Femanyst, a darker and more aggressive direction, is the newest iteration of Miss Akua Grant’s unrelenting musical imagination. With her newly debuted moniker, she has traded in the lush deep house sounds that kick started her career as a producer for a dive into the deep end of captivating techno, acid and hardcore. Grant grew up in California, seeking out the electronic, house and disco sounds that elevated her creativity out of the hardships of her early life. Music production initially served Grant as a much needed catharsis, but in the last few years has garnered her acclaim as tenaciously inventive head for grooves and beats, and has lead her to be selected by Paula Temple for her curated program at Lyon’s Nuits Sonores this May 12th. Her forthcoming release for Noise Manifesto is tribute some of her musical first-loves, namely “90s rave weirdness.”

The four track EP is a churning, machine-driven tour de force. Femanyst’s intensely metallic and concrete sound palate reaches nearly boiling temperatures under ferocious drum machine patterns. “Bat Shit” sets up a perfect nightmare flashback to the warehouse raves you were always too afraid to go to, and then mauls the listener with a sound that can only be described as massive. Much of Femanyst’s sublime appeal derives from the effect of one’s remembering to breath as breakneck snare triplets and razor sharp hi-hats give way to subtly embedded grooves. With innate cool, Femanyst subverts the EP’s dominant hard-edged rigidity with the head-bobbing funk prowess of Lady Blacktronika.  In carving out new corners of what techno is capable of, Femanyst joins Noise Manifesto’s young and promising tradition.
