Rotterdam based producer DJ Crisps follows up releases on Riz La Teef’s ‘South London Pressing’ and Bristol UKG label Time Is Now with three original dubs that blur the lines between garage, hardcore and breakbeat. 

Crisps has a knack for breaks (see Freedom with Ell Murphy). Luvin You walks the tightrope of rough and smooth; it’s chipmunk vocals, ethereal atmospherics and nostalgic samples creating a plethora of heads down and hug-in-the-rave moments. 

It’s A Dark Day is a tale of anxiety. Beginning with soft, uplifting chords it begins optimistically before bassy swells of darkness surface amongst spooked-out vocals and huge wubs. Music Is My Life sees Crisps return to garage territory with a soulful stepper that evolves into a dutty, no phones allowed affair. 

Rounding off the record is a remix of Music Is My Life from standout producer Mani Festo following a wicked release on Sneaker Social Club. He delivers a typically transportative, perception-altering cut of emotionally-stirring breaks that showcases the artist's infatuation with the tension between futurism and tradition.

Toy Tonics brings back the Kapote album. 10 dancefloor tracks originally released 2019 on the „What it is“ album. Now reworked, re-edited and with 2 new tracks.
House music, but with a heavy jazz-funk, brasil, lofi - influence. A mood that reminds early Moodymann, Kerri Chandler or 1990ies Paris stuff. Loft Disco and Indie House.
When this album came out originally 3 years ago, it caught the attention of many great DJs. DJ Harvey was playing „Jaas Func Haus“ a lot at Pike in Ibiza and Gerd Janson, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Kenny Dope and Blessed Madonna were filmed playing other tracks from the album.
Kapote doesn’t release much music as he is mainly involved in the Toy Tonics label development, creative direction and is also in many productions of other artists that release on Toy Tonics. Originally a piano and art student, he later discovered DJing, nightlife, electronic music and by now is doing what he does with Toy Tonics with a couple of friends and like-minded producers.
Kapote’s real name is Mathias Modica and if you google this you will find out he has been doing music before Toy Tonics under the name of Munk. Doing another label called Gomma Records. Where he and some friends already created a little universe based on electronic music, street art, DIY culture, shirt design, underground exhibitions. Mathias aka Kapote aka Munk has produced and released records with artists like Peaches, James Muprhy and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, The Rammellzee and WhoMadeWho. This is the past. ‘Lovelee Dae’, a classic pumper by New Jersey duo Blaze from 1996, gets all the love it deserves on 4 To The Floor in a ten-track mega release featuring remixes from the likes of Frankie Bones, Carl Craig and more. The Original and Radio Edit versions feature a classic deep house bassline, soft hi-hats and distinctive melodic keys. Austrian DJ Joyce Muniz drops the tempo and lays down a bouncy refrain in her laid-back remix. 20:20 Vision, aka Carl Finlow and Ralph Lawson, add bongo beats in their deeper-reaching extended version. The Beloved, aka Jon and Helena Marsh, inject even more groove into their Vocal Rmx, Chris Duckenfield provides a percussive Primitive Dub and Italian duo Supersonic Lovers get funky in their disco-inflicted remix. Brooklyn production titan Frankie Bones brings his famed Summer of Love sound to his previously unreleased Rave Redux mix featuring a thumping bass-line and acid-rave-centric drum rolls. Detroit techno king Carl Craig puts his stamp on the track in his warped 70 Degrees And Sunny Mix rounding off an impressive remix package. Long live this infectiously groovy house music classic.
