Handpicked by curators Jody Wisternoff & James Grant, parts 1 & 2 of the Anjunadeep 10 Sampler collectively boast a line-up of the label’s freshest talent, featuring seven memorable moments from this year’s flagship ‘Anjunadeep 10’ compilation. Part 1 plays host to Anjuna debutants Jazz Do It and Jack Lost, and warmly welcomes the return of Yotto and SØNIN. 

First up is 'For A Moment’, an epic melodic journey by Jazz Do It, the alias of three accomplished Spanish producers. Sensual second cut ‘Walls’ sees Bristol-based producer Jack Lost ply his own soothing vocals amongst dark hard-hitting percussion. Following last year’s ‘Thor EP’, Saint Petersburg-based producer Nuage is back with his beautiful ‘H.A.L.O. EP’. A three track exploration of melodic electronica, Nuage’s latest showcases his versatility and penchant for nuanced, textured production.

Previously featured on Anjunadeep 10, opening track ‘H.A.L.O.’ lays morphing percussion across a bed of angelic chords.‘Distance’ picks up the tempo, injecting an infectious riff atop stuttered vocal chops, whilst closing track ‘Till U Grow’ adopts a pensive, downtempo sound.

What we have here is a complete emotional journey that FREE.D is drawing with absolutely magic scapes and arps in his new EP. Super comprehended sound of personal experience that we feel with the skin listening to these tracks. "Me Child" is like awakening from the grown life flying back to the point when we were born - free with beardless courage. FREE.D frankly monologue of what he lost and what is greatly missed put us on pause and made think. 

The name of this EP comes from reflections of FREE.D's favourite person Jim Carrey. If you saw his latest interview you would understand why then. So that for this musician "Coffee with Jim Carrey" is the evident answer of what's the most desirable person to talk with and we like this choice. And the main track of the same name is just about this conversation - the conversation about Universe vibes. 

And then the final track "Salty Face" is just shaking you up to recover and fell the fresh air ahead. Accept the past as your integral part for living the future. Wow! What a journey. Just Breathe!

A mainstay of the U.K. house and techno scene over the last 8 years as Ejeca, Belfast’s Garry McCartney has found a new following via his Trance Wax project. Reworking timeless 90s and early 00s tracks from the likes of BT, Future Sounds Of London and Delerium, the vinyl only pressings have worked their way into the record boxes of The Black Madonna, Bicep, Job Jobse and Denis Sulta, found radio support from the likes of B Traits and Danny Howard, and earned him a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in 2018.

In his first official digital release, Trance Wax combines with one of the most iconic acts of trance’s genesis, Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab.

Originally released in 2001, ‘Clear Blue Water’ saw Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki and Tony McGuinness join forces with British singer Justine Suissa for the first time; a relationship that continues to this day.

Trance Wax’s update is as haunting as the original, laying Justine’s distinct vocals and the atmospheric lead riff over a modern groove.

Garry’s affinity to OceanLab dates back to his teen years; ”It was one of the first records I bought when I was at school, and it still gives me the same feeling it did the first time I heard it.”

‘Clear Blue Water’ is the first of two reworks on Anjunabeats this year, and provided a poignant moment at Printworks when Trance Wax played alongside Above & Beyond at two sold out London shows in April.

Berlin based producer and live artist Ben Böhmer has risen through the Anjunadeep ranks to become a breakout star of the past 18 months, amassing almost 40 million streams, picking up BBC Radio 1 support from Annie Mac and Pete Tong, including an ‘Essential New Tune’, and being featured in Billboard’s ‘Ones To Watch’. 

In addition to running his own fledgling label Tön Töpferei, Ben has put out singles on Anjunadeep and acclaimed remixes for Monolink and Jan Blomqvist, both of whom now feature on Ben’s debut LP.

Ben’s early releases on tastemaker labels Bade and Keller drew comparison to revered producers Recondite and Francesco Tristano - dark tracks dotted with classical influence, featuring haunting piano lines and discordant strings. Not long afterwards, Ben lost a close family member, and both his life and his music changed course. 

Whilst overcoming this loss, Ben found solace in music. 

The moody and reflective sounds of Ben’s early work made way for brighter and more melodic music, keeping the depth and texture, but changing the tone from darkness to light. Finding a sense of hope and optimism in uplifting emotions and euphoric melodies, Ben's debut album ‘Breathing’ marks the closing of a chapter in Ben’s life, the culmination of a period of heartache and recovery, and a coming of age as an artist.  

Opening track ‘In Memoriam’ is an emotive tribute, blending powerful strings with stirring vocal samples. Title track and lead single ‘Breathing’ with collaborators Nils Hoffmann and Malou follows. A long-awaited highlight in Ben’s live shows over the past year, 'Breathing' layers Malou’s delicate voice above swung percussion and hard-hitting synths.

An avid collaborator, Ben is also joined on the album by two further breakout German stars, vocalist Monolink who features on ‘Black Hole’ and multi-instrumentalist Jan Blomqvist who lends his vocals to ‘Decade’. 

Through the album Ben explores a range of emotions, from the hopeful ‘Hunting’ with Jonah, to energetic instrumental ‘Maelstrom’ through to the hard-hitting ‘Wall Of Strings, which samples The Cinematic Orchestra. 

Following the release of the album in November, Ben will be taking his live show on an extensive world tour - dates and information to be revealed in the coming months.

‘Breathing’ is available to pre-order now, digitally, on CD and on limited edition 2x12” white vinyl, due for release 22 November 2019.

VieL - Vasilis Lampaounas, was born in Greece in 1979. He started his career in 1994 as a radio producer-dj. Exploring several sounds such as acid jazz, soul, ambient, techno and drum' n' bass, finally to be infatuated with electronic music. After that and for a series of years since today he has taken part to many events as a guest or a resident dj in some of the most renown  places in Athens.

In 2009 he started his first steps in creating electronic music and based on his mood he processes with his favourite music genres: Deep House, Electronica and Melodic House, currently preparing his new set of music productions.

Some of his tracks get featured and supported by: Lost Desert, Yoko0, Nick Warren, Armen Miran, Death on The Balkony, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Kora, David Hohme & m.o.
