Deep, sexy bass ducks and weaves through intricately laced organic drums--thuds and reverberations of animal skins stretched tightly across warm wood. Darkness and light is balanced impeccably amongst hypnotic grooves. The close connection between David Block and Yaygon Lamagaia is instantly recognizable in the depth of attention and care the latter gives to the former's source material. You can catch Kalya Scintilla this Thursday, when he hits Cervantes with Kaminanda for Bluetech's Spacehop stop, and over the weekend at Gem & Jam Festival in Tucson, AZ.

It is with the greatest pleasure that I present to thee my set from Saturday night at Ben's birthday party, aka The Perseid Portal. 

Everything about the Persaid Portal event was spectacularly magical. The desert of Joshua Tree gave way to a well of creativity like I had never seen, with so many incredibly talented humans all sharing their gifts. Playing this set is something I will never forget - It was very much the energy that night that encouraged me to take the next step with this whole DJ thing. I hope that energy comes through and you enjoy this as much as I did!
