IBQ or IsoButyl Quinoline is a very powerful and dark leather scent. Although practically never used in its pure form, it is often used in radical leathery accords. Its tobacco-vetivery smell works well in different "leather" compositions, adding a certain brutal, animalistic effect — pairing especially well with castoreum — and additionally, the effect of a leather saddle together with horse froth.

Indole is a molecule that has an animalic and powerful white flower scent. Pure indole possesses a very complex aroma, and in high concentrations, it really has a strong fecal character. Furthermore, when strongly diluted to 0.1% or less, another one of its characteristics reveals itself: a floral note reminiscent of jasmine. Indole is an integral part of the odor of certain flowers like jasmine and narcissus, so perfumers use it to recreate the scent of white flowers.
