Morgan X Barrie is an emerging and original Canadian songwriter whose sound seamlessly intertwines warm guitar riffs and thoughtful lyrics. His music is shaped by his love of the natural world, his concern for its future, spirituality and the human experience. His record collection is filled with influences that span his journey - the masters of folk, rock, blues, grunge and punk. 

Plaid-clad Morgan Barrie grew up on the shores of Georgian Bay where it was quickly apparent to him and those around him that school was going to be a struggle. Instead of studying for the next quiz, Morgan could be found climbing the cliffs of the beautiful Niagara Escarpment, windsurfing the Great Lakes, or locked up in his room recording his first songs with two tape recorders. His climbing and surfing abilities have progressed since those early days, but it's in his songs that Morgan has especially found his voice. On his debut LP 'North' (2017), Morgan played almost all the instruments, and included some A-list friends like violinist Tyler Beckett to fulfill his vision. North caught the attention of international award-winning artist Matt Epp, who teamed up with Barrie for two sold-out album release shows and invited Morgan to support his upcoming European Tour. 

Barrie is currently finishing his second full length album in two years. Fall, set for a May 11 release at Heartwood Concert Hall, is filled with beautiful soundscapes, a subtle, yet palpable, angst over the state of humanity, and it is packed with heart and soul. Morgan Barrie's future is bright; He's the proud father of a beautiful little daughter who gives him hope for the world, he's drawing blueprints for a top-notch private recording studio in the woods, and he was just nominated for the Best Emerging Artist honour in the Owen Sound Cultural Awards. He hand-built his cabin on the Bruce Peninsula, he recorded both his albums himself, he blazed new climbing routes they said couldn't be done. When Morgan puts his mind and heart and soul into something, he goes all out - leaving nothing behind. Go with him as he transitions into a new season of music. Fall.
