This collection was explored by @tadan127 — a creator and the driving force behind @area127 label. His path to music wasn’t straightforward. Starting with Ableton in school, he spent years feeling stuck, unable to find satisfaction in his creations. The turning point came when he got his hands on hardware — synthesizers and drum machines reignited his joy of making music.

Tadan’s creative process is almost entirely hardware-based. He values physical interaction with sound — shaping it through touch, uncovering unexpected forms and structures. His music is energy in motion, both driving and hypnotic.

SUBSTANCES became another playground for him, where a few standout sounds formed the foundation of a new composition. “Hard Is For The Lovest People” is a rhythm that carries you away, playing with discovered textures and unexpected sonic twists.

The first to explore it was @smforma — a duo of Mario and Jogilė, where industrial landscapes merge with the human voice. Growing up in industrial, noise, and punk scenes, Mario shapes sound like raw material — through machines, distortion, and rhythm. Jogilė adds a layer of voice and melody — atmospheric yet tense, like a thin veil stretched over dense soundscapes.

The duo reveals their full power in live performances — music born in the moment, organic, unpredictable, and captivating. For them, music is both a necessity and a connection — a way to distill emotions and let sound speak for itself.

Their track “Jokios Baimės” — “No Fear” — is their response to the SUBSTANCES pack. Raw, hypnotic, and fearless — a journey into sound without hesitation or doubt.

SMFORMA - Jokios Baimės

SUBSTANCES – a collection of rhythms, textures, and layers that shape experimentation and bring creative ideas to life.

This was the goal behind SUBSTANCES, created by @kabahart. His journey began as a child when he first heard Deadmau5 – SOFI Needs a Ladder and felt the urge to create music. Initially aiming to be a metal band vocalist, he decided to try composing metal instrumentals. Searching for his sound, he went through a trap phase before ultimately finding his place in electronic music.

KabaharT creates exclusively with hardware. In 2021, he purchased his first piece of gear, realizing that a direct connection with sound was a must. One machine soon grew into a collection, with his favorites being the SOMA Pulsar-23 and Moog Minitaur drum synthesizers.

His music balances soft and sharp, smooth and hard. Influences from Witch-House, EBM, and Aggrotech shape every sound in this collection. Refined percussion and one-shots give it a distinct character.
