Chrysostom (Golden Mouth)experimental piece March 2019. The digital effects help the 23rd Chord harmonies to be heard vertically, since the saxophone is a monophonic instrument. The focus of the SYOS mouthpiece alto mouthpiece helps to bring clarity to the lines.

The second part of this group of short experimental alto sax pieces. Again the #23rd chord dominates the sound, cushioned with some more conventional melodic minor structures. The Negative Harmony reverse cycle of fifths also features about halfway through. Many thanks to Signature Custom saxophones in the UK and SYOS mouthpieces in Paris for their support in the making of this recording.

Testing my SYOS personal signature mouthpiece on 'I Can't Get Started'. It is incredibly easy to get the altissimo and the piece can deliver a terrific dynamic range right across the range of the horn. This is an alternative take to my YouTube video. The instrument is a Signature Custom Raw alto sax. The improvisation around the melody is mostly a mixture of 23rd Chord patterns and Negative Harmony substitutions.
