PREMIERE: Davidian - Encore (Cr2 Records)

Returning to his classic style of rugged, explosive techno, Kompakt luminary and co-founder REINHARD VOIGT certainly isn't one to mince beats - his latest 12" outing REISEN & SPEISEN presents a sure-footed duo of intense, minimalist bangers whose lean and efficient structure is finely tuned for maximum impact. The title track drops a simple-yet-mindmelting synth horn into a seething primeval soup of stoic bass and stomping drums - a dead-aim floor projectile packing a worrying amount of punch. Flipside surprise WÜHLER showcases a rare electro exploit by an artist mostly known for unerring techno, indulging in a gnarly new wave bassline being boiled and some expertly placed synth splashes - a refreshing deviation that nevertheless keeps the elbowing momentum of Voigt's sweat-soaked live sets. 

Mit seiner Rückkehr zum klassischen Stil des rauen, explosiven Techno beweist Kompakt-Koryphäe und Mitbegründer REINHARD VOIGT einmal mehr, dass er kein Blatt vor die Beats nimmt - seine aktuelle 12" REISEN & SPEISEN präsentiert ein trittfestes Duo an intensiven, minimalistischen Schiebern, deren schlanke und effiziente Struktur präzise auf maximale Wirkung abgestimmt wurde. Der Titeltrack wirft eine einfache, aber hirnerweichende Sirene ins Rennen zwischen stoischem Bass und stampfenden Drums - ein treffsicheres Tanzflurprojektil mit nahezu besorgniserregendem Durchschlagsvermögen. Die Rückseite überrascht mit WÜHLER, einer seltenen Elektro-Studie von einem Künstler, der vor allem für unbeirrbaren Techno bekannt ist - hier wird einem knorrigen, köchelnden New-Wave-Basslauf und meisterhaft platzierten Synthie-Spritzern gehuldigt - eine erfrischende Abweichung vom geradlinigen Kurs, die nichtsdestotrotz den von Voigts schweissgebadeten Live-Sets bekannten Ellbogen ausfährt.

With 200 release behind their back the Stellar-guys built a decent sound, which is continously looking for fresh inspirations and new, exciting faces, while stay true to the underground progressive roots. The result can be checked on numerous beatport chartings, 90 of the label's releases were featured on beatport top 100, regular appereances on must have progressive house top 10 selections. The label's priority to support their local artists and give them the chance to spin live on parties as dj's.

Marc Romboy is back on Tronic, and we have two remixes of his classic “The Overture”. For remix duties we enlisted Techno originator and legend Joey Beltram, as well as France’s deep house genius Rodriguez Jr. The outcome is as expected. Mr Beltram changes the original to a peak time slice of moody techno, whereas Rodriguez Jr. goes the more melodic route using a beautiful arpeggio. We are very happy with this release and hope you will be as well!
