A beautiful release that kicks off Berlin-based Portuguese producer @jepejustjohn's new imprint Alperce (following in the footsteps of his acclaimed Blossom Kollektiv imprint), 'XTCMA' is an absolute pearler. Taking its cues from old skool progressive house and early trance, it marries these influences with modern techy groove to heady, hypnotic effect. Potent stuff.

Deliciously melodic house with an old skool progressive tinge in today's premiere from Zurich powerhouse @washerman. I saw powerhouse as he's produced somewhere in the region of 100 releases since 2000 under various guises on Sonar Kollektiv, Quintessentials, Izu, Deep Down Slam, Nite Grooves and fellow Swiss types @drumpoet Community, who release his lovely new EP 'The Awakening' this month. Powered by a plump acid housey analog bassline, its simple synth patterns create a dramatic atmosphere, with little let up in the intensity throughout. Lush.

Olivier Mateu (Rodriguez Jr.) will be the first to admit it; he’s never satisfied. From his time as a mathematics student in his nascent rave days in the French city of Montepellier, to the itchy musical feet that would only grow as the years progressed, and his time as one-half of influential live act The Youngsters on Laurent Garnier’s FComs label, he’s always striven to push himself to the next level – both creatively and technically.

With each release, you can simultaneously get the sense of an exquisitely talented artists who is grafting to get the most out of himself and his machines, while being astonished at the creativity and intricate sound design of his work to create stirring dancefloor-ready compositions that sound just as good a club or festival, as they do through a pair of headphones during a home listening session.

The generous four-track work is lead by title track ‘Petropolis’ - a master study in tension and release, the stripped back techno beats, summon the kind of sweat-dripping off-the-walls transcendental rave experience that’ll have you grinning for days afterwards. ‘Capitelle’, is vintage Rodriguez Jr., uplifting and melancholic in equal doses and is propelled by a muscular, compression-heavy bassline that builds towards a sublimely trippy crescendo.

Always one to technically stretch himself, ‘Sulfuric State’ sees the savvy sound technician utilize his beloved 303 not for a distorted, full throttle acid onslaught, but rather something far gentler; a mesmerizing and emotive nine-minute trip through time and space. The first sneak peek from the Frenchmen’s upcoming album, ‘Cily’ sees the tempo drop into dreamy ‘90s house territory, with subtle references to the classic French touch sound, but re-imagined in Rodriguez Jr.'s own fresh original way.

After half a year back since the last Konspiracy in November, Kittball’s most famous sampler is now on the blocks with the 11th edition. Ten very exclusive and individual tracks have been selected carefully to fulfill the highest musical standards. Kicking of with a collab of Juliet Sikora and Flo MRZDK as firm label members, hand over to Lexer from Leipzig as always warm welcomed guest on releases, turning to newcomer Marc Werner from the same city who delivers his debut. The Back ‘n’ Front series reaches it’s 3rd edition with the help from data transmission favourite and good friend Jamie Trench and label veteran Georgi Barrel. If you familiar with sinnmusik*’s output then you’ll have heard Jamie’s cracking EP for the label already and if not you are in for a treat as he opens the record up with a BUMP.

Bump is a drum work out that is tough and funky ready to assault the darker corners of clubland. It’s the smaller elements that’s truly define this track as it weaves in and out of it’s tense moments. Jamie’s inherent knack for an infectious groove really give this track a life of its own. His other offering is our Debut Transmission for today “The LBO” is where we see Jamie flexing his more melodic muscles with a tonally rich riff over a swarm of lush heavenly pads, think hazy late-summer parties.

It's been more than a year since UK native BEC joined the Second State roster and although she has been touring regularly with the crew in that time, she has yet to release her first EP. Until now. Holland's Egbert goes heavy on the cowbell and makes the most out of the original's manifold refrains, extracting the maximum energy from the sounds therein and fusing them to a funk-fuelled groove that fans of Joris Voorn will likely appreciate.
