House, Techno, Breakbeat

From the dubby deep via the stompin’ steep to some melancholic classics - here’s another journey into house music! I stitched this vinyl only mix together from old and new records from my collection on my home setup in January 2022 with hopeful vibes of anticipation for the comeback of our club scene. 

Tim Eder is collecting and spinning records since 16 years. Starting at the local dancing school in Mainz with an age of 14 years, he learned his craft and steadily improved his skills through several longterm residencies in the Rhein-Main-Area: Newbasement (2009-2015), Fiszbah (2013-2014), Red Cat (2014), VHAS & Slap! at Schon Schön (2014-2017), Dorett Bar (2013-2015 & 2017-now), Planke Nord (2014-2017) and Gebaeude27 (2014-2017). Since 2015 Tim is holding a residency at the infamous Dora Brilliant at Tanzhaus West in Frankfurt. Coming from these schools he is expanding his scope across the country and its borders continually. Besides deejaying, Tim is a graduate audio engineer, teacher and label owner of Feuilleton Music. Together with his fellow Fossar he is collaborating with ones like US house veteran Brothers’ Vibe or Detroit legend Gari Romalis and releasing music from international artists on vinyl featured by institutions like Phonica London, Technique Tokio or Gramaphone Records Chicago.

Although his sound is constantly evolving, DOTT interests is stapled to music for dancing. The approach in both his production and DJ sets is rooted in love for raw House and Techno in a minimalistic way, combining indelible bassline grooves with an intoxicating analogue sound palette.

As an integral player in Bangkok’s expanding underground house and techno scene, he has played in some of the cities key venues such as BEAM, Glow, Safe Room and De Commune. His reputation has spread across the dance music scene network from clubs to festivals bringing his unique style Epizode Festival, TAG Chengdu, Savage Hanoi, HoppeTosse, Wonderfruit Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Karma Kastle and a few of illegal and secret parties

DOTT is also one of the three founders of "More Rice", an Asia-based, vinyl only label together with Sarayu and Mikhail, in which the direction is more towards obscurity. Their main vision is to support Asia's upcoming talents by creating great connections between them and other international artists around the world. Also one of the members of party friendly party crew of Unstๆ

He has played alongside the likes of Craig Richards, Roman Flügel, Maayan Nidam, DJ Masda, Sonja Moonear James Dean Brown, Dandy Jack, Thomas Melchior, Archie Hamilton, Alexi Delano and Eric Volta to name but a few.

This week we welcome no other than @Estimulo, from the depths of Berlin, into the Always Sometimes fold. Apart from being an avid record digger since the late 80s he’s started his label Mixomat in 2004 has played countless gigs all over the world and started hosting his own radio show, the Estimulo Show, in 2007. 

He sent us a fantastic one hour mix of deep and atmospheric high energy tracks that sometimes flirts with the trancey side of the house music spectrum while always keepin’ it classy and funky.

Adam & Onnie take it home for hour number two with a mix of straight up four to the floor house music and electro breaks.
