Soma welcome back Italian techno producer Roberto Clementi for his 3rd solo EP in the form of the deep and trippy ‘Promise’ EP. Roberto is quickly gaining notoriety for his quality blend of dub infected yet melodic techno. Firmly rooted in the underground, this EP boasts a fantastic remix from Berlin based Mørbeck, partner in the heavy Vault Series label and also head of his own imprint Code Is Law

‘When Loves Clashes’ begins the EP in typical Clementi form. His undeniable groove is underpinned with spaced out percussion leading to a sweeping pad and near discordant melody. Clementi easily throws his deep production techniques into this track, always pushing forward with intent.

The original mix of ‘Promise’ is up next opening with a filtered synth hook and almost jazzy piano line, setting a laid back tone for the off. Slightly reverbed sweeps open up delicately programmed drums giving an almost house feeling to this track. Clement shows true feeling in this track with the pulsing and flowing melodies found throughout the body of this 

Møbeck closes the EP in fine form with his interpretation of ‘Promise’. A full on low end races though while sparks of the original synth flicker through. As the track begins to take off, fast paced percussion and deep synth stabs give this a much more darker feel than the original, taking it into more dance floor territory.

This is another well-crafted EP from Roberto that once again shows his versatility as a producer

Medicinne - "Saving/Lucid"

Medicinne - a collaboration between two of Francis Preve's alumni: Arcader (Definitive, Academik) and deep tech DJ, Allen Tagle - delivers a stunning tech house debut with their "Saving/Lucid" EP.

"Saving" begins with bass-laden jacked up beats, then fuses deep house vocal slices with subtle techno flourishes, culminating in a surprisingly ethereal breakdown that never loses the groove. The result is a mesmerizing dancefloor journey that works equally well in both house and techno sets.

"Lucid" stakes out different tech house territory, combining indie guitar elements with Medicinne's driving-yet-funky progressive sensibilities. "Lucid" keeps the crowd guessing with a series of complex, yet utterly musical twists and turns that culminate in a massive atmospheric guitar breakdown, evoking the glory days of Sasha & Digweed without feeling forced or nostalgic.

With a debut like "Saving/Lucid", Medicinne quickly marks their place in the vast world of progressive tech house. Their combination of intelligent sound design and intricate musical details makes them a duo to watch in 2014.

"Saving" (Original Mix) - Medicinne [PREVIEW]

This April sees the return of Mexican imprint CVMR with its fourth release, this time bringing American artist Sleazy McQueen into the limelight with his ‘You Know How’ EP, featuring Century and Kasper Bjorke on remix duties.

North Carolina born Laurin Fedora, better known as Sleazy McQueen has been delivering high quality, tripped out funk laden house music for quite some time now, as well as maintaining a busy touring schedule which has taken him across the globe from Chicago and New York through to Tokyo and London, Fedora has seen his material released on reputable imprints like Siesta, Chillin Music and Eighth Dimension / Eight Tracks, the latter of which Fedora is now an employee at the labels head office.

Title track ‘You Know How’ kicks off the release, McQueen blends organic rhythms, smooth ethereal pads and stabbing bass hits skillfully alongside stuttering vocal snippets, so intricately programmed and finely selected the resultant record is incredibly unique and protruding. Following is ‘Bittersweet Freedom’, yet another stunning cut from McQueen, this time he ups the energy levels and storms straight in with an infectious groove from the get go, employing jangling percussive lines, hypnotic resonant synths and rumbling sub bass to create a powerful piece oozing with intensity and vehemence.

On the flip side of the release we have two reworks of title cut ‘You Know How’, the first of which comes from Century, stripping back the vibe to a dropped tempo, emotive workout fuelled be heavily reverberated piano chords, echoing vocal lines and a general chuggy, low-slung vibe throughout.

While Compost Black’s main man Kasper Bjorke finishes things off with his acid tinged interpretation, driven by a gritty saw-wave bass hook, rolling snare hits, wanderings arps and crunchy drums, a simply stunning piece of music as expected from the undeniably talented Copenhagen born producer.

'F For You' (Eats Everything Remix)

Disclosure’s ‘F For You’ ft Mary J Blige is set to get an Eats Everything make-over with a remix dropping on PMR this month. The record, belonging to Disclosure's Grammy nominated album ‘Settle’, has dominated the dance charts of late and Eats serves it a slice of added groove, making for a typically inviting dance floor track. 

Both acts have recently supported one another on recent dates, with Disclosure joining Eats Everything as a special guest at his XOYO residency and in return, Eats made a special appearance at Disclosure’s Alexandra Palace gig last weekend. Having a clear fondness for each other’s work, it was only a matter of time before a remix came to fruition.  Stripped back and built around his trademark punchy house template, Eats gives the original an altogether new dimension that is sure to make waves on both the radio and in the clubs.

Eats Everything kicked off 2014 with a brand new residency series at XOYO, London, with each date comfortably selling out. Alongside pioneering the resurgence of the residency to London’s nightlife, he’s been working his way around Europe too, touring some of the very best venues on the European club circuit.

The Disclosure remix is only the tip of the iceberg when when it comes to what Eats has lined up for the rest of the year. Rounding up the last few weeks of his XOYO residency, Eats will be releasing the ‘Hello Mr. Jello' EP alongside Justin Martin on Dirtybird Records and has a Hot Natured remix forecast, as well as a very exciting mix compilation in the pipeline.

Lee Van Dowski is a name not new to the scene or new to Mobilee. The French born, Geneva based artist has taken the scene by storm ever since 2004 when he released his ground breaking Extension EP with Quenum on Cadenza. After he began to rise quickly amongst the ranks Lee had the opportunity to play in some of the most famous and celebrated clubs around the globe. It was through these travels that he would become connected with Mobilee for the very first time. In 2008 his first release on Leena; Louder Elvis was released, the collaboration with long time colleague Agnes was well received by DJs and dancers alike. This marked the beginning of Lee's working relationship with Mobilee, which from this point forward only grew. The following year Lee saw his first release on the main label with a widely success collaboration with Anja Schneider. Then that same year The Variable Man, a stellar follow up to Louder Elvis was released with eager anticipation by fans and music enthusiast worldwide. On top of working regularly with Mobilee, Lee continues to work with Cadenza, his recent remix of Rebelski's "The Rift Valley" reaching number two on the Cadenza top ten on Beatport. After a short break from Mobilee, Lee Van Dowski is back with a vengeance. Bringing you Branding You Damned, the EP marks Lee's official entry onto the Mobilee roster with another upcoming release on the parent label in May. Lee's follow up to The Variable Man is another conquest of what we have come to expect from him. This time around collaborating with Dean Demanuele and a guest appearance by none other than Cari Golden, Branding You Damned presents the same uplifting style that he is famous for. The EP is bound to shake up dance floors worldwide with style and grace without losing a slight element of darkness that keeps the record in a well-rounded package.

Hot Since 82 is the name on everyone's lips at the moment and quite rightly so. The Yorkshire-man starts the new year as he finished the last, serving up exquisite underground house music. This time in the form of Hot Jams Vol.2.

Since his debut release “Let It Ride” on Noir Music things have been going pretty well for Hot Since 82. 2012 saw him rise to fame with huge releases on Get Physical, Moda Black and of course Hot Jams Vol.1 & Houze Thiz on Noir. His remix work for Yousef, Friendly Fires and Shadow Child was received with high acclaim, with the former spending over four weeks at the summit of the Beatport Deep House chart.

He’s now working on a conceptual project for Moda Black, as well as more club goodness along the way. Despite the rain and sleet, 2013 looks like it’ll be rather sunny for this young producer.
