On the 29th July, Pontoon Bookings hosted the last Instore Session at the Pinkman Store. Before the final closure of our beloved record shop, Pontoon's roster - Kimmah, Pim and Proper, Mowgli and Yopo - offered a fitting soundtrack to the last weekend.

A wise man by the name of Udo once said: “Heimat ist kein Ort, Heimat ist ein Gefühl." Upon returning from his Mexican odyssey, T thought he would somehow regain this feeling of home by digging up and non-stop blasting NeueDeutscheWelle songs until it is laufing out of his and his fellows' ears. 

Why this very particular category? It basically is punk paired with the synth fleer; and for us, simply what our parents heard on the radio, jumping around their bedroom, banging their heads, smashing that air guitar.

Next up in our Premiere series we have Running Back head honcho Gerd Janson remixing Neapolitan producer Partenope, who takes a strong influence from the likes of Underground Resistance, for a deep cut on the Neapolis label. 

Partenope certainly wears a big Underground Resistance influence on his sleeve in the case of 'Odysseia' - it's even mentioned in the press release, and we're not going to argue either.   But it's no bad thing, especially as it's a general love of the soulful, uplifting, musical end of the techno scale rather than a creative plunder of any UR track in particular.  The label has pulled out the big guns with a Gerd Janson remix to accompany it too, and Janson certainly delivers with his warm production bringing out the best via three way acid trance techno hybrid.
