Introducing: Shay Whelan.
A DJ and producer from Derry, Northern Ireland, whose work captures the raw energy and emotional depth of the underground electronic scene. Drawn to music from a young age, Shay began mixing at just 11 years old, using the soaring melodies of 90s trance as a way to express a growing obsession with sound. What began as a fascination soon evolved into a craft—shaped by years of experimenting with House, Lo-Fi, and beyond. Shay has now found his voice in the harder edges of club music, creating fierce, fast-paced tracks from a Techno realm. His sound is urgent, physical, and unapologetically his own—a reflection of both his roots and his restless drive to push things forward.

OISINOK from Co. Tipperary now based in Belfast, has firmly solidified himself as a formidable selector in Irelands club scene over the past Four years. His style and sound is dark & driving with dub techno selections intertwined evident through his guest mixes for Coda, Four Four & Poised.

Oisin has supported a range of high profile artists in his time in the booth such as Francois X, Tommy Holohan, Paula Temple & Fjaak to name a just a few, along with headline shows across Ireland in Dublin, Belfast, Galway & Limerick. He has also played at events such as Fuinneamh Festival, Outset Festival, Electric Picnic and iconic venues such as Index, the Telegraph Building, Dolans Warehouse and Silo Dublin as well as shows in Ibiza, Amsterdam & Glasgow.

Jordan Villa is a Derry born selector whose sound radiates warmth, groove, and pulse. He’s risen from local residencies at Sandinos to regular appearances at Manchester’s Warehouse Project, including their first international festival in Rotterdam. 

As well as procuring festival slots at Parklife and Celtronic over recent years, Jordan now hosts a bi-monthly residency on Crop Radio where he showcases his sound by spinning bass heavy house, shimmering disco, and breakbeat driven grooves, his sets balance raw energy with a refined touch always rooted in connection between genre, crowd, and place.

Derry based DJ Aaron Sweeney has been captivating dancefloors across Ireland with his style and vision of what techno is and can be. Bleepy, soulful, and hypnotic, his sets traverse eras and genres, weaving past and present.

With standout performances at If You Know you know and Saltwater Festival this summer, Aaron continues to showcase an ever-evolving sound. Using 3 Decks to tell a story that is deeply immersive and layered with contrast.

Beyond the booth, Aaron has also been making sure our Mosaic dancefloors stay powered with the right energy, supplying and tuning the sound so it hits exactly where it should. Whether behind the decks or the sound-system, you’ll always find this man fully immersed in the art of sound.

For the 5th edition of the mix series , we have one third of the mosaic collective - 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐲𝐤

OPTYK is the project of Eoin Simpson, a DJ and producer from Derry, Northern Ireland. Starting out at 17, he’s spent the last 9 years shaping his sound through DJ sets, live performances, and long hours in the studio.

He first came up as part of SETS, playing live at Celtronic Festival and running parties across the county. Now focused on his solo work, his music pulls from labels like Ilian Tape, Hessle Audio, Mutual Rhythm, and Klockworks, blending broken rhythms, deep atmospheres, and shadow-soaked techno.

OPTYK’s approach is low-key and self-driven, more about process and progression. His sound continues to evolve behind the scenes, with a steady flow of new material taking shape.

Hailing from Dublin, Aero has rapidly established himself as one of Ireland’s most vital techno artists, carving out a distinct identity grounded in the ethos of purist techno. His sound—a fusion of hard-edged grooves and funk-infused textures—has been a driving force on Irish dancefloors for over half a decade, reflecting a deep understanding of the genre’s lineage.

Aero’s productions channel the raw energy of 90s and early 2000s techno, reimagined with a modern sensibility. Releases on respected imprints like Planet Rhythm, SOMA, Suara, Index Marcel Fengler, and Entourage Concept have showcased his ability to craft precision-engineered tracks, built for peak-time impact. Supported by figures such as Amelie Lens, Freddy K, and Richie Hawtin, Aero’s music speaks to both the genre’s roots and its forward trajectory.

As a DJ, Aero’s adaptability is his hallmark. Whether commanding a warehouse with relentless multi-deck intensity or carefully calibrating selections for an opening set in a low-lit basement, his control of atmosphere and energy is what sets him apart. With an extensive knowledge of techno’s past and present, Aero is as much a selector as he is a craftsman, positioning himself at the forefront of Ireland’s contemporary techno scene.
