Mexican duo Sierra Madre is thrilled to unveil their first EP, "Cumbres". The collaboration project of producers @mijomijo and @colossiomx, offers a unique blend of techno and indie dance, influenced by the stories of Monterrey City, Mexico. The release includes a collaboration with @moiseesduro and a remix by Esprit Divers.

Inspired by the tragic events that took place in “Cumbres” neighborhood, the EP opens with the title track, a dark, hypnotic, and evocative cut. It is followed by "Cadereyta," the name of the prison where the perpetrator of the Cumbres murders serves his sentence. A cut featuring distorted synthesizers and a driving drumbeat.

Next is "Diego," the track in collaboration with Moisees, a sinister, powerful, and gummy jam. To close the release, Esprit Divers' “Cumbres” remix provides a powerful and introspective cut, taking listeners on a journey of groovy self-discovery.

For Naya Beats, Turbotito and Ragz have curated the 13-track compilation with a focus on an overlooked era of house and electronic music released between '88 and '94.

Following critically acclaimed releases with the likes of disco-jazz legend Asha Puthli and Manchester’s Mr. Scruff, Naya Beat Records is back with a lovingly curated selection from a forgotten era of South Asian house, street soul and downtempo. Daytime disco pioneer, remixer and Poolside founding member Filip Nikolic, aka Turbotito, and acclaimed DJ and record collector Raghav Mani, aka Ragz, are behind the series, a reference release for contemporary collectors, tastemakers and bold selectors looking for fresh sounds. Research for it has been ongoing for the last four years as part of a passionate mission to uncover and champion overlooked but pioneering artists from the subcontinent and South Asian diaspora to bring them to the fore.

No stone has been left unturned to ensure this is an authoritative and authentic selection taken from endless hunts through dusty records, obscure cassettes and unreleased studio tapes. While Volume 1 explored early 80s Balearic, synth pop, and disco, Volume 2 uncovers lost or forgotten future dance classics. They come from a time when fertile cross-cultural collaboration abounded in diasporic communities in cities like London and New York when acid house, New Beat, and dub were infused with South Asian sounds.

Often "too Asian for mainstream success in the West, and too Western for success in Asia," the pioneering music from this time was frequently released to short-lived success or relative obscurity. But now, these unsung heroes get their deserving moment in the spotlight. There is a true wealth of sounds here, from the house meets Eurodance club banger 'Bass Fire (On And On)' featuring Asha Puthli to the 90s Balearic anthem 'Calling' by the late Sangeeta, which, remixed by Turbotito and Ragz was the lead single for the album. Bappi Lahiri lends some street soul, the organ-fuelled house romp by The Jets Orkhestra is pure joy, and Mantra’s eponymously titled cut is a hypnotic gem. This double album is truly a treasure trove of never-before-reissued and previously impossible-to-find holy grails.

As dance music now comes full circle with daytime Asian raves back in vogue and South Asian DJs a part of the mainstream and underground circuits, there has never been a better time to pay tribute to the pioneers and with such an authoritative compilation.
Naya Beat Records is focused on uncovering foundational dance and electronic sounds from the subcontinent and South Asian diaspora through reissues, remixes and compilations. Success came immediately with Naya Beat Volume 1, which was named Vinyl Factory’s number 1 reissue of 2021, and has been followed up with more fascinating releases such as a reissue of Pinky Ann Rihal’s 1985 Hindi New Wave album, the superb Bollywood compilation Awaaz Series 1, and a two-part remix project with disco-jazz legend Asha Puthli.

Alex Niggemann’s forward thinking label Aeon recently celebrated five years at the forefront of cutting edge music. To k ick off 2019, Kincaid makes his debut on the label. The EP is the first in a string of exceptional music to come this year.  
The four track EP kicks off in style with On The Back Of A Serpent . An Italo-tinged number with Kincaid's trademark live sounding drum programming. It’s an instant club rocker with trippy vocal snippets that draw the listener into an ethereal, spine tingling breakdown. Stare Into My Monstera begins with a driving groove and dissonant Rhodes, building subtly but relentlessly towards a euphoric Nord lead motif which reappears throughout. A track that will undoubtedly find favour with the discerning Burner crowd. Papoose starts with middle eastern influenced sounds and insistent Timpani accents, before locking into a groove which hypnotises and intrigues in equal measure. Finally It Said - ft Sinàl is a darker affair featuring the sinister vocals of both Kincaid and Sinàl themselves. A ‘lights off / strobe on’ growler, this is one for fans of late night trippy moments - and further displays the diverse number of styles which Kincaid is becoming well known for. 
Kincaid may be a fresh face to many but those in the know will be familiar with his unique brand of diverse and genre bending sounds. Breaking through in 2018, notable highlights include a debut release on Moscoman’s Disco Halal and an EP on Sabo’s Sol Selectas plus a plethora of support from titans of the scene; Rampa and &Me, Jennifer Cardini, The Juan MacLean, Roman Fluegel, all the way to Dixon and Âme, who opened their Innervisions show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall with his remix of Blancmange’s What’s The Time .

Eliezer has more than 20 years of experience behind the decks, in the studio, and as an authority in nightlife in Israel. As an active producer, he’s released on contemporary labels such as Days of Being Wild, Night Noise, Unterman, and Prins Thomas’ imprint Internasjonal under the alias Midnight Dicers and he also runs his own New Day Every Day imprint. Here he works with Isadora, a musician, songwriter and poet known as the lead singer of her eponymously entitled band. The tracks were made in the studio that was inside Eliezer’s club, and he says, “It’s been a long journey as two of them started as a sketch back in 2009 but together with Isadora they got the perfect touch and finish.” Arresting opener ‘Bright Light’ is a dazzling disco cut with shimmering chords and punchy kicks that make you march as Isadora adds fluid, soulful vocals. The excellent ‘Gold E Bella’ started as “a bizarre bass and atmosphere mix, and with the speech from Isadora it became a dance floor bomb.” It’s tense, full of twists and turns and dark disco energy. The heavier ‘Get Down’ has a real sense of menacing energy, with laser like synths, deadpan vocals and punk spirit. Last of all, Dan Wainwright’s X-Rated Remix of ‘Bright Light’ brings howling chords and jittery, dubbed out drums that reverberate with late night kinetics. Once again here Night Noise platform exciting talents with brilliantly inventive sounds.

PREMIERE : Eliezer x Isadora - Gold E Bella

The fifteenth reference of the Dogs & Vultures digital series is headed by the Mexican Javier Martínez, an artist who has previous releases on labels such as Nein Records or Rotten City and who had already appeared in the catalog of the Spanish label with his contribution to the series of edit DVR audio documents.

The EP is starring a single entitled Alter Ego, accompanied by remixes by the Italian duo Modular Project, Justine (half of Permanent Wave with Tronik Youth) and the Mexican talent Alvee.

On sale on November 4 exclusively on Beatport and Bandcamp for two weeks, then they appear digitally on the rest of the platforms.
