Released on Summer Solstice 2021 and born from three world-renowned artists from three continents, “Jai Shiva Shankar” is the incredible new single by Franko Heke, Monica Dogra, and Mose. Call it what you will — serendipity, magic, destiny — something special brought these three vanguard artists together to create this 6-minute dance mantra combination. When it comes to the fusion of these genres, this is a first for New Zealand native Franko Heke, who remarks, “Jai Shiva Shankar is a mantra that came to me on my travels through India and it represents Shiva the creator, protector and transformer of the universe. Shiva and Shakti represent the masculine and feminine that resides in us all.” It is in Bali where Franko met Monica Dogra, the Indian-American powerhouse vocalist who has released five albums with Mumbaikar electronic duo Shaa’ir and Func. 

Gorgeous harmonies between Heke and Dogra breathe spiritual energy into this mantra-driven composition. Underneath and interwoven through the vocals we hear haunting Indian flute, Egyptian drums, tabla, and oud. Guatemala-based ecstatic dance DJ and producer Mose transforms the grounded rhythm section into a series of tasty grooves that are indulgently danceable and beckon for movement. This well-balanced piece repeats the title mantra “Jai Shiva Shankar” alongside instrumental and vocal bridges that are ethereal and rich with emotional energy, revealing that Franko Heke, Monica Dogra, and Mose are the healing trifecta we didn’t know we needed this summer solstice.

This set was filmed on September 20th, 2021 to align with the full moon equinox energy. The set is totally improvised between Janax Pacha and I. I have a collection of loops that make up the ingredients of the different tracks that we move through with the timing and weaving of these loops being totally improvised based on the energy of each unfolding moment.  We had no plan for which songs to explore and just did our best to tune in and listen to what wanted to come through. You can see us communicating here and there just to establish the key of the track and the bpm - beyond that the conversation is just through feeling the vibes.

The island behind us is called Es Vedra and it has quite a mythology around it and a reputation for being one of the most potent vortex points on the earth. With the combination of all of these energies, this set was incredibly powerful for those few of us present for us. When we finished I felt like I was journeying with an entheogenic substance. This for me is a beautiful sign that we journeyed to deep places and opened ourselves as channels for something meaningful and hopefully transformational to come through us as musicians. I can only hope that this journey offers something of meaning to you in your current process.

Scott Nice takes this fan favorite collaboration of Sam Garrett and Mose into the sexy ethereal realms with his emotive interpretation of Om Ganesha. Maha Tupã is the deep rooted offering of Brazilian artist Gustavito and
Portuguese ecstatic dance maestro and impeccable producer Mushina. The combination of medicine music vibes brought by Gustavito and the finely polished and intentional production of Mushina has resulted in a finely crafted EP to get your body moving and your heart open. Gustavito’s guitar and voice intend to enliven the powers of the sacred plants and the universal spiritual energy that they offer us. Mushina, who has been forging a potent path of dance medicine in Portugal through his events and DJing, brings the ecstatic groove to expand these sacred messages into the dance space. The EP includes three tracks, each with their own message:

Tupã - Prays for all the native entities of the native people of the forest.

Jakare, comprising of Italian duo Lo.Renzo & Halfred, continue to deepen their downtempo world fusion offering to the global dance scene. “Chrysalis” presents 4 tracks including various collaborations that span a wide range of emotions and energies while remaining true to the euphoric, energizing Jakare sound throughout. The chrysalis is a symbol of transformation, of the passage into new phases of existence after periods of crisis. The caterpillar must go through a phase of helplessness and disintegration in order to reborn in its most majestic form. The creation of this collection of music is the manifestation of a need to deepen the connection to the inner self through these challenging last years. For Jakare, It has led to a greater alignment with goals as human beings and inhabitants of “planet heart”.

This was one of my favorite sets from the summer. We started with a simple cacao ceremony to set intention and open the container for a deep dive inside. The set starts slow and builds to ecstatic moments joined by a full range of live collaboration, all improvised in the moment. Thank you to Dreamersland Festival for setting the stage for this magical experience.

Sam and I are overjoyed to share this new mix with you: “Open Up Your Heart”. This song was birthed while Sam and I were improvising during a live set. We have had many special opportunities to explore this improvisational space together and in this particular session, these simple yet profound lyrics landed through Sam and deeply touched me. I decided to follow the general idea and we developed it into this song. We then invited our dear sister Matia Kalli to offer her incredible vocals to the mix. It has been one of my favorites to share live over the last year in my sets all around the world. It’s incredible to see how it opens people up to receive more love as we drop deeper into the present moment together.

The release of this new track “Offering” comes at the end of a deep process of creation beyond just the track itself. This track was created as part of my desire to share my creative process with aspiring music producers. I filmed the full process of creating this track from the very beginning to the final song you hear now. This process is now available starting today as a full 15 hour masterclass program where I share everything from my philosophy of production in general to the intricate details of the ways that I approach making music. 

This track is a perfect example of how I approach this creative process as it includes two friends and musical collaborators Alexandre Lora and Matia Kalli. The track started with some recordings of handpan and percussion that Alexandre sent me. As I was flowing with the creative process and filming myself doing it, I realised about midway through that I would love to include the vocals of Matia Kalli. So I sent her a work in progress and she got back to me with some incredible vocals that I incorporated into the process. 

I love so much to weave with other musicians that are emanating a vibration that inspires my own creative process. To film the whole experience I had with creating this track was really special. It’s interesting how speaking about what I was doing and creating with the intention of sharing shaped the energy of the track in very significant ways. I hope that this music can be inspiring to you in your own journey just as it was inspiring for me to work with the sounds of my friends Alexandre and Matia.

This was a live jam accompanied by the incredibly talented Suyana (@veerle-kumpen) performed for the beautiful people at Heart Culture Festival in Austria. None of this music was pre-arranged, I had groups of clips and created the arrangements out of those clips on the fly in response to the energy of the moment. This is a live recording of one of my favorite sets from the SunSet Cacao Dance's I played this season in Guatemala at Eagles Nest. The journey starts with a cacao ceremony and then begins with slower, spacious music. The energy builds slowly through the mix and peaks followed by a cool down towards the end as the energy comes back down. These sorts of sets are some of my favorites to play. This set also contains some of my unreleased tunes.

This is a recording of a very special set I played during the silent retreat I put on with my friend Randi. It was called Reflections and the concept is to explore the space of a silent retreat while exploring movement in the form of yoga and dance while being supported by music. It was an extremely potent experience for all of us and this set in particular reached new levels of depth. Sam and I collaborated live with loops coming from some of my slowest tracks. You will probably be familiar with some of them and others will be new but the journey itself is quite unique in that it was totally improvised and Sam's presence lifted the experience into a heavenly bliss. I hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed it live.

Om Ganesha is an original adaptation created by Sam Garrett and his beautiful partner Mollie Mendoza. It features the guitar and vocals of Sam as well as supporting vocals and harmonium from Mollie. This track invites the energy of Ganesha - energy to remove obstacles and clear our path forward. 

This track is part of a 4 track series called Elements, due to release in it's entirety on April 22nd.

‘Elements’ represents a fresh and innovative concept in creating and sharing music as a devotional practice. The fruit of this E.P. has been seeded through a magical constellation of friends, drawn together from the 4 corners of the world. The E.P. is a series of four tracks produced by Mose and bringing in the potent voices, prayers and instrumentation of Sam Garrett, Matia Kalli, The Hanuman Project, and Jackson & Marileen.

It is a release in the spirit of collaboration, innovation and exploration of that which unites us as a global family. Humbly seeking to honor and celebrate the cultures and traditions that have inspired these offerings. By bringing in a wide range of elements, this EP offers the listener a full journey through medicine music, mantra and something in between.

Cura Corazón is a beautiful heart opening offering of Matia Kalli, one of the lead members of The Hanuman Project, woven with the delicate production of Mose. This song has a universal feeling to it and due to it's universal sound it has been attributed to several songwriters such as CJ Ananda Page. This particular version is an interpretation of an Estonian variation written by Agne Nelk.

The SunSet Cacao Dance @ Eagle's Nest Atitlán is an ecstatic dance inspired community event guided by Mose on the shores of the majestic Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.

This is a live set filmed in December, 2019. The journey starts just before sunset with a simple cacao ceremony to set intentions and drop deeper into presence and inner silence. Cacao helps to open the heart and provides energy in the form of theobromine, literally meaning "food of the Gods". In honor of worldwide Ecstatic Dance guidelines, the group is led into a space of silence through the rest of the event with the intention to deepen the experience and allow each individual to connect more deeply inside while honing the ability to connect with others through eye contact and movement. The participants are asked to refrain from consuming any other substances and no alcohol is served with the intention to tap into deep states of consciousness without the need of hard drugs and the inebriation of alcohol. 

The music starts slowly to invite people into their bodies as they feel inspired, while allowing others to stay seated in meditation or contemplation. The music slowly builds through the experience and peaks with full ecstatic movement. The wave then washes over with a slower more spacious energy to drop deeper into spaciousness and introspection until finally ending lying on the ground with soft ambient music to hold the space for integration and grounding. 

There are many of us now all around the world who can attest to the depth of experience available to us on a dance floor surrounded by beautiful, free spirited, open hearted people. Combine that with the magic of cacao and breathtaking scenery and you have a recipe for magic.

*The normal guidelines include the prohibition of cameras and cell phones in the dance space to nurture a space of freedom and to let go of our need to document and share all of our experiences. For this particular event we made an exception in hopes to give a glimpse into this expansive world. 

About the Space:
Set near the shores of renowned Lake Atitlán (Guatemala), Eagle’s Nest is a distinguished intentional hosting space for events, retreats, residencies, community hosting, workshops & summits.  With a focus on movement arts (yoga, aerials, acrobatics, circus, dance) to foster well-being, guests are invited to explore, experiment and soar beyond!  Groups of up to 24 can be hosted on-site for retreats, whilst up to 200 participants for events.
