For those keeping count, this Winter closes our ninth year releasing Essentials compilation, and this one is our 36th official release. We started this special compilation series back in 2016 with a release for every season of the year. Providing a fresh spin on the artwork every time, each calendar year presents a cohesive world-building storytelling mode and narrative arc. For 2024, our Raccoon returned to the countryside where they grew up and has spent the year catching up with family, reconnecting with old friends, taking plenty of naps, and reflecting on childhood. A time that was so long ago yet feels just like yesterday. Because of this continued narrative, Essentials Winter 2024 has a gaming-heavy visual component and remains steadily reminiscing on the past while also enjoying the present and all of the exciting things to come in the future.

“What if the multiverse is not out there… but inside us?”

Lahali ("By Myself") is a poetic sci-fi musical film that begins in a quiet room — filled with books, a piano, and scattered memories. A man lives alone. He sleeps. He wakes. He wonders.

But something feels off.

Time slips too quickly. Shadows linger. The room feels less like a shelter… and more like a threshold. One day, he opens a door — and steps into something far greater than a world.

What follows is a cinematic journey that drifts between reality and dream, solitude and imagination, memory and stars. As he floats through surreal galaxies and cosmic corridors, the laws of physics and identity begin to dissolve.

Clocks tick strangely. Light bends. Objects decay like forgotten thoughts. He begins to question whether he exists at all — or if he is only a memory dreaming itself into form.

Sung in Arabic, the lyrics move between classical and intimate tones, exploring solitude not as despair but as a doorway: into doubt, rebellion, and becoming.

The orchestral-electronic score mirrors the emotional arc: ambient textures, cosmic pulses, and aching strings echo the rhythm of his inner journey. His voice rises — not to be heard, but to find meaning.

Thawret ‘ALA’ (Translated: Revolution of Anxiety), was the group’s first musical, written and directed by Salam Yousry and composed by Tamer Abu Ghazaleh. The musical premiered in November 2006, still showing, and is now released as an album & produced by eka3 productions.
AlTamye Theatre Group is an Egyptian theatre group that seeks alternative means of expressing the Arab human mind and heart, in a live performance through scenography, poetry, music, light, visuals, video-art, paint, in a rich mix of tools & emotions. Managed and directed by Salam Yousry, the group was established in 2003, and is composed of more than 15 devoting young artists.
