My next guest on Yax Invites is Nashville based DJ & Producer, Blaine Mason.

Blaine Mason is a tested mediator between tension and release. Founder of the party-series-turned-label PHAASER, Mason has brought a neurotic and striking style of techno and dance to the city of Nashville, TN.

His mixes span all eras and moods; from classic raw techno to modern polished minimal, to filthy 2000’s schranz to current-day breakbeat, electro and dub techno.

Co-founder of local venue/label Disctrix, Mason’s focus on blending classic dirty analog sounds with polished modern moods has introduced locals to the new era of techno while keeping its origins apparent and forward on the floor. His original productions focus on groove and shuffling drum sequences that create a lively high-energy environment while still keeping dense atmospheres and entrancing moods intact. Mason’s releases have found a home through many established labels such as Hybrid Productions, PHTM, Darkroom Bureau, Radiance, and Murk Records

“Like most of my recordings, I wanted this mix to reflect what our dancefloors feel like in Nashville. The crowd here likes things raw and rowdy, but also really appreciates the break in energy with more contemplative tracks which you’ll hear in the back half of this mix. But once the dancers have caught their breath, they’re ready to cut the rug back up with some hard punchy techno, breakbeat and electro. I wanted this mix to capture the Nashville peak-time hour and all of the moods and energies you feel in those moments. 615 is alive!!!”

Another one from the Sims archives for the lockdown crew, don't think this went public before but i could be wrong.
It was recorded in '99, to cassette, and the tape just says 'Party Mix' on it, although i know for sure it wasn't from a party (unless just me, my bestie Sosa, Reggie Redstripe and some Benson's in the dining room of a shit house in Essex is a party..ha ha).

Anyways, it's kinda cool, lots of classics and faves amongst early Hardgroove material and standard late 90s flavoured trickery.
