Mega Man 2 - Dr. Wily Stage 1 (Metal Cover)

The experiment where it all started. This is metal without guitars, 8-bit music without digital synthesizers, stereo bass and unexpected piano. In general, it was interesting to combine all these non-standard elements. I slightly added the rising part - in the original it is twice as short. The original work, despite its 8-bit primitivism, has a complex meter: the verse is in 7/4, the part before the chorus is in 3/4, and the chorus is in 4/4. The piano idea was born in the process, these jazz vibes just suggested themselves.

Super Contra - No Escape (Cover)

I left the instrumental part almost unchanged (except for the ending), all the most interesting things happen in the drums. The solo part is played by Behr Neutron and I constantly turned the knobs so that each phrase in the verse starts with a short portamento, but as it develops the transition between notes becomes smoother.

Operation C - Area 2 (Metal Cover)

Starting with an explosive chorus is my favorite move. It tells you what the song is about from the first seconds. I avoided the cheesy rock'n'roll move after the chorus, now there's an evil arpeggio that turns potential rock'n'roll into something devilish. Fun, heh.

Bucky O'Hare - Center of Magma Tanker (Metal Cover)

According to the game's plot, the main character plants a time bomb and runs through the level with a countdown timer with disturbing music that drives and keeps you in suspense. Constant tension is tiring, so to relieve it I added a melodic solo closer to the end.

What if you glue a song together from two different ones? It turns out quite diverse and I also made it worse with an unexpected plot twist in the middle. Enjoy listening :)

p.s. For me, the original Target Renegade has the most realistic guitar solo in the history of NES games - perfect blues phrasing.
