A collection of sounds that journeys through the electronic spectrum; exploring celebration, unity and Black joy by an intercontinental selection of visionary artists that deeply inspire B.A.D.: AFRODEUTSCHE, Amaliah, Chmba, DJ Holographic, Lyric, rRoxymore and co-founder NIKS.

Since its inception in 2020, B.A.D. have established themselves as a crucial and respected global platform with community as its core focus. Through the newly established B.A.D. label, their unwavering vision continues; to highlight the boundless range of Black creativity
and give power back to the community, relentlessly working towards Black liberation. 'Synergy' builds upon B.A.D.s mission and presents an introduction to the platform's exciting sonic universe.

Premiere: NIKS 'Badness, Can't Work'

This summer sees the second instalment of Faux Poly’s remix compilation series. Round 2 features an eclectic selection of artists close to and admired by label bosses Kassian. 

Kicking off the compilation is a cavernous, trance inspired reinterpretation of Kassian’s ‘No Clear Shape’ by Manchester’s Homoelectric resident Gina Breeze. Following is Will Hoffbauer with a characteristically leftfield flip of Ste Roberts’ ‘Diego’s Mad Hour, who’s somehow gotten away with dunking a huge techno track into his bubble bath.

Another highlight comes from Rotterdam-based duo Black Cadmium, stepping up for their first ever remix together. Their dark electro inspired take on Ste Roberts’ ‘Dirty Politician’ is bursting with energy, holding onto the mood of Ste’s original with their own added signature groove.

Completing the lineup is London’s Third Son, Niceup, Void Complet, plus contributions from label bosses Warren Xclnce and Danvers.

Banoffee Pies Records welcomes a very special milestone project and curveball duo under one umbrella, combining artists across generations connecting sounds from past and present. London based Nottingham producer and Trouble Maker Records founder, Adam Curtain, serves up “Frass Box” under new moniker Curtain. An off-kilter, dub dancehall leaning track featuring the inimitable voice of Warrior Queen. The highly esteemed and cherished vocal artist steps in with another excellent contribution to their deep archive of memorable UK electronic-music collaborations.

With Adam’s solo productions usually focusing on bass heavy, disorienting club music, this release shows their production craft evolve seamlessly to a new sound sphere. In keeping with the intentions of the release, early 2000’s dubstep originator and a pioneer of the FWD era, Distance, provides a mammoth remix version. A fitting twist from a name synonymous with the genre's inception, and a vast catalogue of distinguished inserts over the last two decades, from their own label Chestplate, to the likes of Tectonic & Hotflush Recordings.

The 2nd remix aims to stretch the palette with Berlin based, Tel Aviv born DJ & Producer, Mor Elian. The Fever AM founder and sound innovator, further cementing their energetic, percussion-heavy signature with a peak time DJ tool in “Freeze Mix”. Originally dropping in late 2023 with a packed launch party at South London’s Planet Wax, ‘Certy’ blends Lutsu’s drill- and grime-inflected production with Razor’s unforgettable bars.

The second remix comes from Groove Chronicles (Noodles) with the help of Dubchild. Responsible for more than his share of garage classics over a 25-year-plus career, Groove Chronicles’ bumping production is the perfect match for Razor’s skippy flow.
