‘You’re My Strength’ hist the ground running with a driving 4/4 beat joined by emotive keys and stirring pads which build to a break-down with echoes of Art Of Noise’s haunting ‘Moments In Love’. The vocal ‘you’re my strength, my desire to move forward, I love you’ appears intermittently throughout and truly encapsulates the brooding romantic energy of the track.

In December 2022 Razor-N-Tape first welcomed the Brooklyn-based band 79.5 to the family with ‘Club Level’, the single lifted from their eponymous LP. On that same single NYC mainstay Eli Escobar crafted a masterful remix that leaned into that 80s nostalgia, with a soundscape and arrangement nothing short of perfection! Named after an imaginary radio station, RNT are now proud to present 79.5’s second full length album.
79.5 is the sound of New York City. Soulful and psychedelic, their new collection’s masterful melodies may be hard to categorize, from 70’s underground disco to acid jazz to sugary sweet pop. Its very existence is a protest of the old boy’s club in the music industry. And, a personal triumph against all odds, while illuminating the most beautiful collaboration between friends. The current line-up includes singer, songwriter and composer Kate Mattison, singer and rapper Lola Adanna, drummer Caito Sanchez (Charles Bradley, Lee Fields), bassist Andrew Raposo (Midnight Magic, Hess Is More) and sax player + flautist Izaak Mills.
