Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with ‘Blackbird’, featuring a remix from Ian Pooley.

Last appearing on Rekids with the ‘Control Your Mind’ EP in 2020, Mathias Kaden now delivers his third release on Radio Slave’s label, teaming up with Zoë Xenia for the mammoth ‘Blackbird’ backed with a pair of remixes from house legend Ian Pooley.

Leading the A-side, ‘Blackbird’ sees Mathias Kaden reach for rumbling basslines, fluttering synths, and lush piano chords to craft a tense, building track enhanced by Zoë Xenia’s soaring vocal performance.

Additionally, an instrumental version of the track features on the A2, providing a welcome bonus for listeners and DJs alike.

On the flip, Ian Pooley twists the track into a rattling house jam, with wriggling keys, bouncing low-end sizzling percussion sitting under slices of Xenia’s effortless vocals. Rounding out the release is the ‘Basic Dub’ mix, which sees Pooley playing with classic dub techniques for a sharp instrumental take on the original.

A growing name within paired back house music, Son d’Étroit boss Boran Ece is steadily crafting his own sound palette fusing a wealth of wide-reaching influences. Having launched the main label in early 2021, welcoming the likes of Hannes Bieger and Mihai Popoviciu as remixers, he now launches a new project focused solely on his own original material. Set to release a new EP every six weeks, the Basel-based DJ and producer unveils SDE Digital, with the inaugural EP landing to close July as he delivers three new productions across his ‘Woodward Avenue’ EP.

Opener ‘Post Soul’ is a vocal-led slice of resonant house guided by dubby stabs and crisp percussion, while ‘Jazz Club’ fuses rich keys with hazy chords, low-slung bass, and further soulful vocal work. To close the show, ‘Riverwalk’ journeys even deeper as shadowy pads, crisp drums, and echoed samples take things firmly into after-hours territories.

Radio Slave drops new single ‘You Don’t Know’ this December on Rekids as part of ‘The House of Rekids’ Comp.

On his latest single, ‘You Don’t Know’, Radio Slave enters House mode, employing hooky vocal snippets, chunky drum hits, and filtered synths to hypnotic effect across the deep 9-minute track. Accompanying the single is the streaming-only compilation ‘The House Of Rekids 2022’, which comprises 13 House tracks released on the label this year from the likes of Mark Broom, Ian Pooley, Alinka, and many more.

Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, is responsible for some of the biggest underground dance tracks of the past 20 years, including ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, ‘Another Club’, and many other timeless cuts. As an A&R, his work curating Rekids has seen the label release music from some of dance music’s most acclaimed artists, consistently pushing the envelope of House, Techno, and beyond.

Now making his return to Will Saul’s Aus Music following his ‘Back To ‘95’ EP in 2022, the Berlin-based DJ/producer readies three
bumping House tracks across his new EP, ‘Piano FM’.
Title track ‘Piano FM’ leads the release, bringing thumping kicks, soaring vocal samples, and piano stabs
together for a chunky house jam topped off with deep, rubbery bass. ‘The Moment’ forms a shuffling groove,
peppered with dubbed-out samples and rolling chord progressions for a heads-down groover. ‘Use Me’ combines swirling keys and pitch-perfect drums with bouncing low-end, emotive vocal snippets, and subtle synth licks, rounding out a standout EP from one of the best to do it.
