Milan's The Robinson make their debut on Monologues Records following truly sumptuous outings on the likes of Futureboogie Records (where they received a remix from the legend Ron Trent) and Rye Records. Pushing a sound that taps into the vein of classic deep US house, from Glenn Underground to Body & Soul, their sophisticated productions encompasses beautiful synth work and excellent attention to groove and rhythm.

'Mondo' is a melancholy stunner where soaring pads give a subtle edge of ecstasy, 'Electric City' is a chugging, synth-heavy atmospheric workout in the Joe Claussel vein, and 'Acid Square' is pure deepness with beautiful melodies and layers of organic percussion. Monologues mainstays Manakinz bring a heady Glasgow touch to their remix of 'Acid Square', building things to a tripped-out, spacey climax.

The next release in Fluid Funk’s steady flow of feel good grooves comes from Sven Wegner with his lush and deep ‘Night of Light EP’. Full proof of the Hamburg producer’s successful one eighty degree turn from classic house and techno formulas to sample-heavy wares and highly charged electronic funk joints.

The dislocated jazz swing of its title-track lays down an instantly rousing, easy to love vibe throughout the room. ‘Night of Light’ is a laid back slice of jazz house, not quite picking a side between the effusive smoothness of its drum work and the many potentialities of its ruff taped sampling. The infectious loop of ‘Babette’ is enhanced by violins and abstract samples, making for a much lovable bit of DJ functionality.

Dipping its toes into a sensual night time vibe, ‘French Late Night’ lets the bass talk. It’s a chiselled mosaic of RnB vocal samples dressed with deadly piano stabs emerging like shiny knives out of red velvet drapes, and then comes a seriously infectious get down boogie beat. Doing just what it says on the tin, ‘Sunny Your Mind’ teleports you to warm blankets of white sand, with the one of your dreams and a good looking cocktail in your hand. Nice..

After his strong debut on our label last year Idan Hana is back with a very special follow up! This spring, close after his release on Berlin’s “Aterral” label , he celebrates a deeper and more open, eclectic side of his sound. This EP consists of a wonderful journey into jazzy, electronic spheres. The opener Moon Desert is a floating piano house track with ever evolving rhythms and melodies, showcasing the vast creativity happening in Idan’s LA studio during many late night shifts.

Placed as a short break is the cinematic and joyful “Galaxy One Two Three” interlude, sustaining the mood and setting the tone for the last track on the A side called “Far from the Sun”. This break beat joint is reminiscent of classic trip hop combined with atmospheric deep house grooves, organs and synthesizer flutes, topped with a distinct vocal sample.

On the flip there is a very special extended remix of one of Idan’s debut EP tracks “Lo Fi Hi” by none other than Chicago’s finest Ron Trent. He reworked the original in his unique style and arrangement and elevates it to new heights by adding beautiful strings, guitar and keys. We couldn’t have dreamt of a better remix for this track and are so honoured to have him featured on our label and this new Idan Hana EP.

'Round Up' is taken from Liam de Bruin’s debut EP 'Thinking About Dancing', out Friday 22 April on vinyl and digital on Heard and Felt, the label curated by Melbourne’s @enniostyles. From playing multiple instruments in bands around Melbourne, Liam found himself in lockdown with a lot of extra time to spend in his garage studio. There he recorded himself playing drums, bass, keyboards, guitar and percussion and then shaping those recordings into tracks like this one, an understated but funky organic groove, full of hooks, twists and variations.

Still a relative newcomer to Melbourne’s thriving live jazz house scene, Liam quickly won the affection of like-minded locals Close Counters, Horatio Luna and Teymori as well as global tastemakers Osunlade, Jimpster, Mousse T, Gilles Peterson, Peacefrog, Art of Tones, Delfonic, Laurent Garnier, Jazzanova, Red Rack'em, Smoove, Ashley Beedle, Carista, Jazztronik and many more.

The EP features six tracks of soulful deep house and grooves, including a club-ready remix from Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange that takes things more in the raw tech funk direction of Underground Resistance/Planet E affiliate Waajeed. A limited edition of the vinyl includes a felt cover (assorted colours) with stitched on Heard and Felt embroidered logo tag.

This is house made with a love of club and DJ culture, but from a musician's perspective.
