About a year ago we spent two months in the UK traveling, meeting amazing artists, raving, and connecting with long time internet friends. We left the UK super inspired and as a result, started Joog Music. Over the last year we’ve been working OT to put out releases we truly believed in. It has been so endearing seeing our friends come up with us as we build this little platform, and through it made new friends and connections.

This summer we’ve stopped all digital releases while we took time to reflect and question what we want Joog Music to represent.

Joog Music wants to make good music accessible. We strive to cross-pollinate varying scenes with the intent to introduce people to new music and create new networks. We want to do our part to keep our favorite corners of rave alive in the Bay Area. We want to support up and coming artists, and in that also diversify our own taste and creative work. As we enter our second year, we want to continue this mission and create more safe in-person spaces for discovery, connection, and self-liberation.

With that being said, summer is over, and we want to get things rolling with our biggest release yet!

We got 26 killer tunes from local, internet, and international friends we’ve met on our travels! With this compilation, it was important to us that we represent Bay Area talent (very overlooked!), that we put on our friends we’ve met around the world, and that we capture up and coming talent that we’ve been obsessed with.

With 160 and Jungle (but not limited to) at the core of our criteria list, we picked out these tracks with dancers and DJs equally in mind. The compilation spans across various rave genres but still represents a cohesive vision of what Joog Music wants to curate for people that love to rave as much as we do.

We hope this becomes part of the rotation in the soundtrack of your life, as it has been for us! We hope you also feel inspired to make music and create your own network of party people in your corner of the world. We hope you discover new rabbit holes to dive into with every single of these talented producers!

Following their contribution to 2023’s VA compilation, label regular Compliments returns to Mantissa with another slice of bass-heavy 160.

A lean and stripped-back take on electro, Yuppie Flip combines catchy lead lines with muscular 808s and raw, rowdy percussion, heavily inspired by Detroit pioneer DJ Stingray 313.

In line with their recent output of minimalist 140 and drum & bass, Yuppie Flip is a straight-up, no-bullshit club tool, ripe for peak-time dance floors.

Compliments is a non-binary producer and DJ from Huddersfield, based in London.

Their tunes and sets are heavily influenced by the wobblier sides of drum & bass, dubstep and bassline, with a pinch of nü-metal riffage thrown in for good measure.

With eclectic mixes on the likes of Mantissa, 1020, Voices Radio, THF and NTS, their selections span a wide range of UK-focused flavours across the tempo spectrum.

Nu Gun on the flipside gets a lot more dubby with it's perfect jungle beat edits and moody chord stabs - all that laid out over a well known vocal sample. It can easily be considered a prime example of Sun People's signature sound which is heavily rooted in Dub, Jungle and Juke/Footwork.

You already know ILL_K's sound design and arrangements are different from others, rich in details and a wild mixture of headnodding halfstep and fast jungle breaks at the same time. 
Persecution is a prime example for that, just when you thought you figured out its groove with the stomping bass kicks, some nasty breakbeats come running through the speakers like thousands of lemmings at the same time.
