Handy Records returns for round two with another obscure electro flavoured EP. This time from the illusive, East London dwelling; Adam Curtain. Known for his own imprint ‘Troublemaker’ and his analogue heavy productions which dance between broken electro, huge sound design and cheeky melodies and rhythms. We are excited to have him up next with his offering for Handy Records. Teaming up with ‘UTTU’ Club’s very own DJ Haus for the remix duties this time round, it’s sounding rather naughty.

Counterfly’s EP called Èlapimpish is the protagonist of the 14th release of the young, yet rich Apparel Tronic’s catalogue. The experimental imprint is proud to present this incredibly variegated work by the Italian producer (real name Lorenzo Olivieri) who delivers the most musically complete record of his short career. Èlapimpish is a masterly blended mixture of sounds and genres: from the UKB/Techy vibes of “Malapimpish” to the Jazzy/glitchy experimentations of “Consolation” and the more rhythmic “The Lobby”, the eerie atmospheric beats of the title track, the warmer and meeker energy of “No One In The Field” and “Flare”, with its smooth yet firm piano and its spacey vocals. The whole EP is encrusted with sonic details and inputs and perfectly epitomises the Apparel Tronic’s manifesto -not submitting to any genre- collaborating to define yet again the Bliss-Beat sensation. PREMIERE: Counterfly - The Lobby [Apparel Tronic]

Born in 1991, Samuele De Santis approaches music thanks to some tapes recorded by the pioneers of the acid house in the late 80s. He shares this passion with his uncle, an old guard dj from Varese, who taught him the art of mixing and influenced his style.

Vinyl lover, his dj sets express all facets of the house music.

He is part of This Is Not since 2012, project thanks to which he had the chance to share the console with several international artists. 

In these past few years he released many tracks for labels like Neo Violence, Dusky Adriatic, Juicy Traxxx, Bellissima! Records, Trend records, About Disco, U’re Guay, misplaced Records, Dive.

At the end of 2020 was released his first vinyl on Yung Dumb Record, distributed by Lobster Records and supported by Cinthie.

Staying loyal to his roots, he is constantly growing and looking for new sounds.

« Half of Tiger & Woods on a brillant release for SKYLAX RECORDS » 

If you ever wondered what it might be like to have a 707 or a Sampler instead of a pacemaker, you could always ask Valerio del Prete aka Delphi, who has been setting dancefloors around the world on fire for years. Delphi has displayed his mastery of acidized arpeggios and deep electronic tropes via an EP on Pigna, before linking up with Roman techno don dada Marco Passarani as the discotech duo Tiger & Woods. Several EPs and two albums of stripped back disco on Editainment and Running Back encapsulate their winning approach – reimagined loops from heady discotheques mixed through the axis of Rome, Chicago and Detroit. In 2016 he released the house/Italo/EBM stomper Blue Tuesday on a split 12” on Tiger & Woods own label T&W Records. For this new release, the brilliant producer (half of tiger & woods we repeat) kicks off the show with the very Italo-discoïde "donuts for dinner", nourished throughout by a monstrous kick and soaring synths. He poses as a worthy heir to the Italian masters of 80s pop who often used the B-side of their songs to experiment with their most adventurous ideas. Zequenz immediately made us think of an imaginary orgy between Ron Hardy and the members of Kraftwerk, this sound is incredibly sharp and would not have denoted on the decks of the legendary DJ. Which leads us straight to the most brawling track on the EP, the aptly named "Ron's lesson" and it is indeed a lesson. This crazy track (obviously dedicated to the legendary chicago DJ) seems to have come straight out of an imaginary session, we must remember how much at that time naivety and therefore distortion (!) Reigned over productions, giving an incredibly raw and edgy side on the dancefloor. Again, this song could have been released 30 years ago. And finally, to come full circle, the very graceful overheat joins the aesthetic of the first track in an elegant and dreamy way. Note that on the label's bandcamp, with the purchase of the vinyl, you can get 3 exclusive bonus tracks (Clutch play, Runinng in place, Sucker). The magic is here, CLEARLY.

Ahead of the LP release ‘Self Reflection’, Oath are pleased to present the first single off the new Melchior Sultana record, ‘Dogma’, which in many ways gives a delightful teaser of things to expect with his latest long play.

In true Sultana fashion, the opening is a full to the brim emotive affair, with sultry chords flowing our way atop a collection of impeccably balanced percussive elements, and before long the organ makes itself known, acting almost as a free agent amongst a sea of cascading grooves. The bass line that perks up at certain moments only adds to the momentum this track has, with the hi hats piercing through the remaining space like a knife through butter. The listener is placed within it all, captivated by the emotional lead organ line and enticed to move by the unreal sense of rhythm. The sense of evolution comes in the form of the guitar work that places itself effortlessly within the second half of the show, with little key flourishes acting as the icing on top of a faultless performance. It’s classic Sultana, with flair aplenty and an enormity of good vibrations to get lost within, with his multi-instrumentalism on full display to be appreciated and taken in. In our eyes, its a superb indicator of the overall experience that is found within ‘Self Reflection’, so be sure to stay tuned for that - hopefully, this track is top of the list as a soundtrack to your latest walk in the sunshine….
