He'd always hated heights; it was a childhood fear that he'd not managed to shake after all these years. For the most part these situations had been manageable — he avoided high rise buildings, anywhere that involved mountainous regions and, perhaps most importantly, flying. Until now, he'd managed to keep the nausea, dry mouth and sinking feeling at bay, but he knew he couldn't steer clear of it forever...

As part of their 20th birthday celebrations, digital distribution, rights management, PR company and record label EPM have rounded up their nearest and dearest for a series of three Various Artist EPs: each one exploring a genre that's formed the backbone of EPM's work over the last two decades. Following a techno-focused four-tracker featuring Robert Hood, Mark Broom and more, the label usher in the second part which turns the spotlight on electro, with new tracks from veterans of the genre: The Advent & Zein Ferreira, Carl Finlow, Detroit’s Filthiest and Modulator a.k.a. Freddie Fresh.

Barcelona based dj and producer, Franco Gonzalez AKA Dj Frankie was born and grow up in the west side of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. At his 17 he launch his first track on a 12'' a 'LDN Wht' V.A with Dax J, Audio Injection and Cleric as 'Franco Gonzalez' and then he released 'Encrypeted sound' a 12'' EP with his brother Herman Gonzalez on 'Prima Luce'

He organized 'SQUIRT' and 'ThisOrder' two cycles of partys in Buenos Aires with art exhibitions and live music sessions and plays in clubs like Cocoliche, Avant Garten and La Piramide. He has also played at Sequence / Distrito in Paraguay and different partys in Uruguay.

In 2017 he present his new live act in 'Mutacion Geneti-K' and starts to play as 'Dj Frankie' a new project inspired in a sound that goes from the futuristic atmospheres of the mecha-electro to the deepness worlds of the subacquatic breaks.

Then he moved to Barcelona in 2018 and played in Apolo, Laut, Switch and later in Rinse FM Paris, city where he currently has a residence in the cycle Les Patates Braves. This year his nuclear productions gona be stamped on wax by his first solo reference on Radio Mars the ‘Spidertronik’ EP.

DJ Swagger returns to Nerang Recordings with ‘Bass Hysteria’ this March.

Following releases on E-Beamz, Natural Sciences, and Who’s Susan, the German-based DJ Swagger returns to Nerang after appearing on the label’s ‘Freaky Friends Volume 1’ compilation earlier this year, bringing yet another bout of high quality, high energy output to the table. 

Merging influences from Dance Mania through to UK Garage, ‘Bass Hysteria’ sees the DJ Swagger at the top of his game. ‘Atomic Fear’ galvanizes the pure energy of early DJ Funk, with air raid sirens and glitched out hi-hats punctuated throughout, while ‘Drybones’ nods towards early dubstep and UK flavours, with gurgling basslines and skippy drums bubbling throughout as occasional glimmers of gorgeous synth work allow the listener to come up for air.

‘Trail of Destruction’ encapsulates golden age electro, with effected vocals, crisp percussion, and gritty basslines coming together for a late-night groover. ‘Noseblunt’ is a fast-paced whirlwind, aimed for fog-filled dance floors, perfectly wrapping up the eleventh release on a label pushing diverse sounds from artists around the world.
