The fighting had broken out several days ago and there had been little respite since. Pleas had come from both sides but nothing seemed to settle the violence, peace wasn't on the horizon. The media had done their worst, pitting each side against the other, scapegoating them for the bad decisions made by those who wield the power. The terrain ahead was unchartered so they braced themselves for the worst.

Benedikt Frey and Menqui's Serious Trouble imprint return with another batch of gritty electronic excursions, this time courtesy of producer NVST. Part of the Statement Crew, Female:Pressure and one half of the team behind the Big Science label, she's got plenty of firm roots within electronic music, which she's now extending to her own productions and the release of her debut solo EP, 'Stop Violence Motivate Violence'. Full of driving rhythms, warbling metallic synths, crunchy breaks and stuttering vocal samples, the release is an accomplished introduction to NVST's sound palate, bolstered by a remix from Benedikt on the flip.

It’s rave time, peeps! ANIMAM (SXDNS083) wreaks havoc in his contribution to the forthcoming compilation of the brand-new Mexican label WVWV. His “Gamma Hypno” is a frenzied 140-BPM track that brings back recollections of the good old times we used to dance at such speed for hours and hours. Nothing against slo-mo chuggers, of course, but we haven’t been on a dance floor for more than a year now, and it would be simply great to go nuts at 140 again when we have the opportunity.

This is not the first time ANIMAM delivers a high stamina piece. His 2021 releases so far have been aiming at peak time: Remixes for ØBLVN and Umvral & Mad Slow on Veneno and an original on Null Recs range from 131 to 136 BPM.

The intensity “Gamma Hypno” delivers does not come only from its steam, but also from the elements ANIMAM proficiently brought together: The throbbing bassline, the trippy synth layer, and the humming-like acid lead provide a hellish and frantic tune, kind of reminding part of the vast output of legendary Underworld back in the days.

In 2018, brother's duo E&A Rüeger released their debut EP "Midnight Sun". It was composed of three electronica-driven's original tracks + one remix. On their demand, Pavel created three versions of the remix, and the "Bliss" version was chosen to be part of the EP.
In 2023, Pavel re-discovered the two other versions and wanted to give them a new life. He thus reworked them and proposed a proper release on Blizzard Audio Club for these two forgotten versions.

"Raw Version" is a highly saturated lo-fi track, with bouncy and heavy distorted kicks. Powerful and... raw.
"Acidpella Version" is the ambient transcription of the first one. A beatless audio synonym which gives an acidic poetic perspective of E&A Rüeger's original work.
