The glass building soared high into the sky, its floor to ceiling windows reflecting the sun as dusk set in. He surveyed the city below him; from up here the people looked like tiny ants, much like the team of workers he now forced to do his bidding. It hadn't been easy for him to get to this level of superiority, he'd had to step on a lot of people to make it to the top; something only certain people could do without guilt or shame trailing them. The only trajectory he had set his mind on was upwards.

There's been a lot of good stuff coming out of the Programm camp: the London-based label dealing in "system frequencies to make you dance." Since launching with a VA of their nearest and dearest, they've set the tone for their explorations into breaks, dubstep and bass, following this up with their first proper EP: a four-tracker from D3U5E & Gav, that paid homage to conspiracy theories, obsession and corporate illusion. Now D3U5E returns solo to take care of the label's third release, delivering two tracks that showcase his own spin on shuffling bass-driven electronics.

Following a debut appearance on the reverse label in 2020, Bristol-based artist Ido Plumes is back on Livity Sound with four tracks of experimental dance music for soundsystems. Plumes established his sound with pointillist drums and echo chamber atmospherics the first time around, and now he builds on that premise with a more dense and dramatic approach.
Plumes’ layered tracks follow non-linear narratives, switching lanes and exploring unusual, evocative landscapes while retaining a fundamental physicality. Longer form tracks like ‘Afloat’ cover a lot of ground across their run time, while the likes of ‘Been Here’ revel in audacious plot twists to create strikingly confident and original variations on the UK dance music tradition.

Hessle Audio welcomes Toumba to the label with the 4 track EP 'Petals'. Based in Amman, Jordan, Toumba explores Levantine microtonality, rhythms, play styles and timbres across the record. Lead track 'Istibtan' is a twist on a typical Jordanian wedding song with deep subs providing the foundations, complimented by crisp percussion and warm melodics.

Toumba is a producer, DJ and sound designer and is a curator at MNFA, a club and arts space in Jordan's capital Amman. A nationally respected artist, Toumba also holds a residency at the MMAG Foundation. The foundation works with a selection of the most gifted artists in the Levant, providing a space for artistic research, production and critical discourse.

No Edyth record is complete without a homage to the Dub roots that set off the project. Mercenary (Ambulance) is a track not missing its share of effects, all flushing out the warbly ambient pads and guitars that struggle to keep up with a classic sampled breakbeat rhythm, chopped down and about for the dancefloor. Unexpected is the female punk yelling resonating in between the elements, struggling to stay on-top of it all.

About Bare III :
The desert breeds resilience. At a point marking so much loss and devastation, to the everyday comrade as well as any musician, this ability to outlast becomes a point of contention within the discourse of Man and, with many other themes, within Bare III. Where my 2019 LP Bare II was a colorful assemblage of sci-fi- influenced experiments meant to build upon the prior two EPs Bare I and Agua Verde, Bare III is a shorter but more carefully-crafted meditation on death.

This is not to say this record is meant to be a deconstruction of modern electronic genres. I’ve always had my affinity for contemporary Dance music as well as my own love for late 90s/early 2000s sonics so this is my most recent attempt at bringing together all that I love, not attempting to push the envelope. Bare III doubles as a quiet love letter to many records from 20 years ago that continue to influence my listening today: 100th Window by Massive Attack, Geogaddi by Boards of Canada, Deftones’ self-titled album and many of the records released by Raster Noton.

A music project by me, Sudanese musician Mohamed Abnaof (AKA Gold Plates) that continually explores Dub-influenced atmospheres as well as Future Bass, Dance and Noise. What do clouds sound like?  For 3024's first release of 2023, we are super proud to present an exploration of that question by the amazing Italian-Ivorian producer Ehua on her new EP.  

"Clouds EP" consists of four sonically and energetically varied tracks inspired by the paradoxical nature of these mood-shifting objects, suspended in space. They can be heavy or light, menacing or comforting, distraught or at ease. They are still but in motion, they can cause fear and confusion or give you strength, awareness and empowerment.  Ehua's music combines live handmade percussion and flutes (the ancient Duduk on Nefele and recorder on Vola) with fierce drum programming and synth work.  This is music for the mind and the 'floor! Enjoy.
