The London born DJ prides himself on his vinyl only sets with a taste spanning all things breaks and booty! Expect to hear breaks, acid, UKG and hardcore as he delivers most things on the broken spectrum but merely a few that nest under the umbrella taste he calls “bangers and bliss”

Keep an ear out for two tracks by a producer called BOBO (inc Pepé rmx), the first artists responsible for sharing the gunfinger poppin’ sound that the imprint is renowned for!

@amaliahppeche is a London based selector with sounds that touch varying genres. Starting off as a disco and soul collector, her recent endeavours have gone back to her roots of experimenting with underground dance music, including UKG, bass, UK funky, house and tech. This diverse range of sounds is mirrored within her events brand ‘Borne Fruits’, which host's small scale parties around London epitomising a house party feel. She also holds down a monthly show on Balamii Radio. Ambient soundscapes, dubbed out chords and swirling arps: Subtle Oscillations is a compilation of blissful sonic textures from a collection of up and coming producers associated with the Size 13 collective.

Opening the EP is the luscious and dub infused “Candle Lit” from Manchester producer 4TGANG. The soothing vocals and gradually building percussive elements of the track leave the listener in a state of euphoria.

Tortuga, co-founder and resident of Size 13 follows on from Candle Lit with a 7 minute journey of sound. Ambient breakdowns and wonky synths can be heard alongside the constant flow of running water on this one. 

Reaching the energetic climax of the EP, Still Sinking is a deep and wobbly breakbeat grooves, with chopped vocal samples and melodic synth chords to accompany the shuddering bassline.

Persona Audio takes on the 4th track with “Midnight Express”. Atmospheric pads and soothing chords over a brilliantly programmed house beat, this tune is a perfect tune for the end of a set/ the after party.

Closing the EP, Gibbin’s “Butter Knife” is a downtempo stroke of genius. Sharp synth lines and syncopated drum beats have seen this tune picked up and played by DJ Python and Ciel.

We also caught up with Tanya and asked her a few Qs, text below.

AM: It’s a tricky time in all senses at the mo, what have you been up to recently? 
 
I’ve been mad busy with uni and exams and trying to balance it with recording mixes, but they make a fun study break so I can’t complain.
 
AM: You’ve been quite active on the mix front recently, what’s your main source of digging & which labels / artists have sparked your interest lately?
 
Bandcamp and Soundcloud are where I find most of my music, it’s a constant stream of new music. I listen to mixes at any chance I get for inspiration. It also helps having so many talented friends making music! There’s a lot of amazing music coming out but some labels I’m loving are Steel City Dance Discs, Raiders, +98, Haus of Altr, Dr Banana, Time is Now. Cold Cuts Hot Wax and DNR always have great records and when it isn’t lockdown, Tribe Records in Leeds.
 
AM: Where and how did you record the mix? Was there an idea behind it? A theme as such?
 
It was recorded in my living room, aka where I’ve spent most of this past year. Using my trusty XDJ 700s and Xone:96, a new addition to the set-up which I’m in love with. I feel like the theme is always the same with my mixes but it’s just me missing clubbing and having a proper fist pump. There’s something really therapeutic about being able to have that release so I just use mixes to replace that for now. It was nice to play some 140/Dubstep and there’s plenty of Breaks too, but all the tunes have quite euphoric and emotional melodies in this one.
 
 
AM: Out of music what are your interests? 
 
Architecture and Engineering which is what I’m studying. I’m into clothes and trainers and spending far too much time on eBay. I also love running, but only when it’s less grim outside..
 
 
AM: Lastly, whats next for ya? 
 
Plenty of exciting mixes lined up including a Sticky Tapes mix for charity, guest mixes for Daffy and A for Alpha on SWU, and High Class Filter for his Reprezent show. We’re also starting a label for Spin City so there’s been a lot of work going on in the background to get that up and running, expect Speed Garage bangers!
