Utrecht-based producer Frenquency joins International Chrome's Data Planet, the series of cassette tapes to introduce the finest new artists to the wider world. 

Across ten tracks, Frenquency makes a melting pot of club and dance sounds, past and present, including Trap, Aquacrunk, Jungle, Footwork, UK Garage, Baile Funk, Juke and R&B then displays a truly dizzying ability to meld them into an album overflowing with idea and a sense of openness and playfulness. 

From the Bollywood-by-way-of-Memphis opener, Sparkle, all the way through to the hands-in-the-air piano rave of Make It, this LP solidifies Frenquency place as a major talent.

Coming straight from Marseille, they are as good friends behind the decks as in life, and both manage the label Don’t Need A Million which highlights the emerging French scene.

During a release party at the Rex club in Paris organized by the Pont Neuf label in 2019, Trax magazine presented the Dub Stiker as « the young tenors of French house » with Ethyène, Tour-Maubourg, Vitess, KX9000 and Deborah Aime La Bagarre.

Studio accomplices for 10 years, it was in 2017 that they revealed themselves to the world with their release on STRCTR, where their strong title « Mood » appeared alongside the other classics « Please Stay » and « Decompression » by Matthieu Faubourg and Harrison BDP.
Since then, they have confirmed with remarkable releases on Hustler Trax, Maestropolis, or even on Happiness Therapy.

Ltd, W/Lbl is a label based out Berlin that specializes in sophisticated, Classical, Jazz and Ethnic oriented electronic music. Since 2017 they have been putting out two vinyl series - one that features re-issues from previously released tracks and another that showcases all newly released work. Today's post involves the latter and includes an original from up and coming artist Alberto De Santiago, better known as Never Dull.

Based out of Los Angeles, Never Dull has been on the scene for only about a year now but has already released work for labels such as Feedasoul, Dansu Discs, and Hopera Records. In his latest effort titled Cool Jazz Boogie, Never Dull manages to pair sultry Spanish vocals along with a groovy assortment of languid synths and gently plucked guitar strings. In that sense, the title of the song is fairly straightforward in describing the vibe it creates and will certainly play well where ever lounging and relaxation is the prerogative.

If Russian producer Anton Bogomolov (aka Scruscru) is not on your radar yet, he will be after listening to his latest offering on Berlin imprint LTDWLBL. Having previously released music on labels such as Minor Notes Recordings, and most recently Nomada out of Colombia, Mr. Bogomolov continues his run of phenomenal releases with a brand new EP titled LTDBLBL005. As the name denotes, this is the 5th record to be put out by LTDWLBL. Up until this point, the label has only produced vinyl featuring tracks from various artists. However, this time around, they have decided to devote an entire 12'' to originals from Scruscru himself - and we could not be more pleased with the decision!

The song we are premiering for our listeners today is the A1 from the release titled "Waka-no-ura Bay." Named after a Japanese heritage site known for its shimmering tidal flats, old stone bridges, and ancient shrines and temples, this track will leave you captivated in a similar vein with its rich textures; colorful arrangments; and crashing melodies. Being a label known for their sophisticated, classical, jazz and ethnic-oriented electronic style, we honestly could not think of a better artist for LTDWLBL to collaborate with on their first, full-length solo feature than Scruscru. If you're like me, hopefully, this will be a paring we will see again in the months and years to come!

Scruscru is knocking 'em out right now and we are loving it. Going from strength to strength it seems he can do wrong. Laying his famed swung out grooves over some cleverly chopped samples foraged from the depths of a dusty record shop. This wobbly funk jam is soothing to the mind, body & soul.
